Best vacuum to pick up shredded paper?

We need a vacuum for low pile carpet that will pick up papers from the shredder. Our biggest office problem is cleaning up the little pieces of paper that fall from the shredder.

We have gone through a number of vacuums that die out and can't do the job. We are an accounting office. Looking for lightweight, if possible and within our modest budget.

Get a commercial vacuum cleaner
by: Chris from GoVacuum.com

Ahhh, the old paper shreds murdering the vacuum cleaner, I've seen this too many times. ;)

I would highly recommend that you get a commercial vacuum cleaner that uses a direct air style of motor. These types of machines have the fan of the vacuum cleaner directly on top of the carpet, and provide more suction power power, and less channels for the paper shreds to clog.

The downfall to having the a direct air motor (also referred to as a dirty air vacuum) is that typically the vacuums don't have on-board cleaning attachments, but on the bypass motor (also known as a Clean air vacuum) there are a lot more channels for the paper shreds to get clogged in and overheat the motor.

It sounds in your case that it's the carpeting that you really concerned about cleaning with this vacuum cleaner, so the direct air motors will clean carpeting much better.

Typically users would purchase a second smaller canister vacuum cleaner for doing above the floor cleaning, or desks and upholstery.

We carry a brand called Perfect Commercial vacuums. These vacuums offer the highest suction power for all commercial direct air motors.

They also come with a unique feature of having a magnet placed in the front of the vacuum that will trap and metal particles that could possibly be vacuumed up and cause damage to the motor. Specifically I would recommend the Perfect model P101 to you.
