Bissell 3950 Velocity Bagless vacuum

by Sheryl
(Walnut CA)

We bought the Bissell 3950 Velocity bagless vacuum cleaner because Bissel has a good name. But not with this model!

We've had the Bissell 3950 for about 4 years now and it has stopped being of any use even after changing all the filters and cleaning all the cyclonic parts. This machine started losing plastic parts within about 4 months after we bought it.

The first thing to go was the turnable clip the cord winds around, then one of the extension tubes broke, then a clip that holds the hose in place, then the height adjustment broke off. Also the hose connects to a tube to supply suction to the beater brush area and that comes off all the time.

We would not recommend this vacuum to anyone.

bad bissell
by: Anonymous

I have a bissell velocity upright and have had bad luck wiht it since early on. lack of sucktion, pain to clean hair wrapped in brush, easy clog on new carpet, center piece in canister broke while cleaning it out. and finally wont pick up popcorn off the floor with the hose and it is clean and empty. have had it about 2 yrs. not a good run for a $400+ machine. i would recomend staying away from this one. and am looking for a good one light enough to do stairs heavy enough for the whole house. built to last
