Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Vacuum

by Mark
(Pittsburgh,PA)

We have a Bissell Pet Hair Eraser vacuum. It is over 2 years old and we love it. It picks up everything.

The best part is that all the filter are washable expect the HEPA filter, but this isn't all that expensive and it lasts about 3 to 6 months. It has great tools for picking up pet hair and they work great. It has a turbo brush and a contour brush that are exclusive to the Pet Hair Eraser plus the usual tools.

It has a clean filter indicator and that is awesome. It not only tells you if the filters are dirty it tells you if the machine is clogged. Bissell's manual is great because it tells you how to unclog the vac if if gets clogged. (Yes, we have clogged it only because a piece of plastic got sucked up.)

We have had to replace the belt a couple of times but once was because we had it set too low. The belts are cheap and easy to install, so that was nothing major. That is pretty much a standard part that needs to be changed anyway.

Bissell's customer service is great also, if you e-mail them they reply with a solution and they do it in a timely manner. If you get a Bissell you will always want a Bissell.

The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser vacuum picks up more than you thought was in your carpet. This is worth every penny we paid for it. I would recommend this to anyone. In fact I did and the people bought it and love it also.

Horrible
by: Tina

I have had mine for about a week and I hate it! It wont even suck crumbs up off my kitchen floor....much less cat hair or anything else. It takes me twice as long to clean my floors and can still feel dirt on my feet after I am done...I am going to try to take it back. I should have spent the extra money and bought a kenmore!

Disappointed
by: Anonymous

Bought a Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Vacuum about 6 months ago and at first thought it was great. It did pick up more pet hair than my built in or the canister vac we had. I found the hose set up awkward though, stiff, short didn't seem to reach very far and not as powerful a suction as expected. Also it didn't last - seemed to clog up and lose suction quickly - then the belt broke for the beater and it was difficult to replace. When we went to replace the belt found a small plastic fitting had also broken and can't be replaced. Not had any response from the company about the poor performance. So here I am looking for a new vac.

Bissell Pet Hair Eraser
by: Jean

I hate this vacuum! From the start I had trouble with the pet hair staying at the top of the collection area and not going into the cup. It would clog up each time I used it.

When I wrote to the company for assistance, the solution was that I take the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser vacuum apart and clean it out manually and reassemble the collection system. What a pain to do this every time I need to empty the collection cup! I won't purchase a Bissell product ever again.

Bissell Pet Hair Eraser about 2-3 yrs old
by: Heather

I was given an Electrolux about 10 years ago and was told it was the best thing since sliced bread. Until... I saw how my mothers Bissell Pet Hair Eraser worked.

I borrowed my mother's vac and vacuumed after I used my Electrolux and gross!!! The nasty hair and dust in the carpet was overwhelming! The Electrolux did a horrible job. So... I went to Kohls and bought my own Bissell Pet Hair Eraser (bagless) for just around $150. I love it.

Unfortunately, recently I burnt up a couple belts and can't figure out why it's sooo loud. It is about 2-3 years old, so I might just want replace if it burns up another belt. I have tried to go back to my old Electrolux, but I already know it doesn't pick up even a quarter of what my Bissell did.

PS

A very reliable vacuum repair/store keeps telling me that the newer 5yr or newer Electrolux vacuums are not worth anything. The manufacturer has changed some things so it's essentially not the same as the older models.

Hoped this helped.

Oh I also have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 birds in my house.

bissell pet heir eraser cyclonic bagless

Is there an attachment for carpets that we didn't get? The Bissell pet hair eraser vacuum got great reviews and my family and i can't figure out why.

The large attachment with the felt bar is fine for bare floors, but where is the large beater bar attachment for carpet? The fact that this product is advertised as being good for pet hair is laughable. At best, the hair might get rolled up in a bunch making bending down and picking it up manually a bit easier. I get far better results using a straw broom on the carpet.

Also, three hands are needed when emptying the dirt container. The upholstery attachment is oddly angled and awkward to use. MY review of this vacuum can be summed up in three words: Useless, Useless, Useless.

Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Model 3920
by: Kathy

Purchased the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Model 3920 6 month ago. Worst product ever! The beater becomes quickly overwhelmed by hair because of the lack of suction. It clogs often. The dirt container must be emptied frequently. I have replaced the belt 4 times in 6 months.

EVERY TIME I've used this vacuum I have had to stop in the middle of cleaning to either clear a clog, remove the beater to clean hair off, or replace the belt. If you have multi-surfaces in your home do not use this product. The beater does not shut off when using the tools, if you have hardwood floors BEWARE it will scratch.

I have Golden Retrievers who shed year round, this vacuum it not up to the task of cleaning pet hair. It nows sits in my basement collecting dust.
