Bissell Total Floors Velocity vacuum

I have a Bissell Total Floors Velocity vacuum cleaner and I would never recommend it to anyone! I bought it without doing proper research and thought.

The Bissell Total Floors is very heavy and in your late 70's it is just too much to handle. The extra long cord is useful at times, but it is hard to keep the extra corralled when using the machine. It does clean well, but only if you do maintenance on it as if it were a prized Rolls Royce.

You must clean the filters, I keep an extra set on hand and change them every time I use it. It also might be handy to have all the extra tools at hand; but the extra weight isn't worth it! I have just broken another belt, the second in 6 months.

I forgot to school my husband in the drill before you vacuum.

1. change the filters for clean ones, then empty the collection drawer and bang out the lower filter

2. lay the machine down and remove the cover over the brush and pick the lint out. This is extremely important as there is always more in the brush compartment than in the container.

I am sitting here with tears of frustration, I am half done with my cleaning and don't have time to drive 40 miles for a new brush installation. Not to mention the expense and the time it will take.
