DC07 the original

I am very dissatisfied with my Dyson DC07 vacuum and have been. I used it for a week and was pleased, then I noticed it was not picking up things off my floor like I thought it should.
I called the company and they walked me through trying to solve the problem. It would work for a while then right back to not sucking much off the floor again.
They then told me the only other option was to pay and have it looked at. I paid $400 for a sweeper that lasted about a year. I still have it and use it but my carpet always looks dirty.
The only reason I still have my Dyson DC07 is because after paying $400 I cannot afford to get another one. I will never buy another Dyson again because of this problem and the inability of the company to stand behind their product.
When asked about the vacuum guaranteed never to loose suction, I got the response, it is not a guarantee of the product. Very confusing to me!
Don't use it as a slogan if you cannot stand behind it. Now I need ANOTHER hose for it and that will cost me $40. I have had two of them and they continue to pull apart at the handle.
The lady at the 800 number insisted I had done something wrong. Again I was accused of using my sweeper... sorry if I cannot sweep one a week.
I need to vacuum every couple of days with a dog and children. Maybe this DC07 vacuum is not meant to be used more than once every couple of weeks, then it still might work for me!
