Dyson Blueprint

Bought the Dyson DC25 Blueprint. Loved the bagless feature, loved the vacuum. Two days later, a tiny plastic tab that holds the hose in place broke.

Dyson offers a 5 year warranty on parts. They promised a replacement in 3 to 5 days. Two weeks later, no part, and a third phone call reveals that there ARE no parts available anywhere and they can't give me a date when one will be available.

One week later (one month after purchase) they still couldn't tell me when the part would be available -- not a week, a month, two months, a year?? Mind you this is basically a universal hose for Dyson -- all their vacuums have the same hose with the same attachment.

So there's no replacement for ANY of Dyson models ANYwhere? A supervisor confirmed this for me. I agreed to take a different color from a different model, but they told me they're not available and couldn't tell me when they would be.

What good is a 5 year parts warranty if they don't stock the parts? Luckily I was able to return my Dyson Blueprint for full price, but Dyson lost my respect and my business with their poor after-the-sale service.

Piece of crap.

My wife wanted a Dysion sweeper so I gave in and bought a DC18. What a mistake. Biggest piece of crap we ever owened. First the under carriage broke. The wand hose will not go back in if it gets one twist in it. Now there is no suction. Debating whether to use a sledge hammer before giving it to the garbage man.

broken hose clips

I also have a hose with broken clips on the DC25 limited ed. My vacuum is about 1 year old, I do not use it as much as most folks do, as I have no pets. I love the vacuum, but it makes me wonder ''why can't they just make this stupid hose clip out of metal?!!!!'' I called Dyson today. I was told that the piece would arrive in about a week. I had a great experience with the c.s. rep. I just hope that it is smooth sailing after today.

Dyson has basically stolen my vacuum

Bought the DC25, I've used it less than 4 times and it started making a sound like one of the filters was causing a suction problem, was receiving no suction from the bottom of the cleaner either. I called customer service and they walked me through checking filters and hoses to determine I had to mail it in. I mailed it, called and reported the tracking number to them. I was told 10 -15 business days at the most.

I'm sitting on a month and a half now the customer service reps can't even confirm where my cleaner is , let alone if its been fixed. But they want to guarantee me that I don't need to buy another brand because it SHOULD be sent to me soon, but they don't know where it is, or if its fixed. The Chicago call center is full of BS artists that want to run you around with promises of ... oh we will email someone at our company and then call you back.. but they can't call their repair center because they don't have phones there.. /cough BS .. Disgusted with this company and their service department. I would gladly let them keep my cleaner for a refund of my money.. DO NOT DEAL WITH DYSON, I'm very pissed off and am still waiting on a return call I was promised 2 days ago..

Same Exact Problem

The hose clips have broken 2x on my vacuum. The first time, the hose clips broke, I was able to replace it through the retailer. 5 months later the exact same problem happened again. The clips broke. I called Dyson CS today and they are sending me the elusive replacement hose. Let's hope it solves the problem.

Finally got both hoses this week. Moral of the story... never buy expensive products without a local rep (a physical human being who you can grab by the collar when something goes wrong).

Called Dyson yesterday. They told me the white colored hoses for the Blueprint are coming in on March 17.

I asked why I haven't gotten the regular DC25 colored hose yet and they said that was on back order also.

51 days and counting.

No Hose

Another update...

Thanks for your comment Lisa...

Customer service rep called me today and explained since I have DC25 Blueprint and it's a special edition/color, they don't have that color (white) hose normally in stock and are having to manufacture it. She said Dyson will send me a regular color DC25 hose and it will arrive in 7-10 days until they get more of the white ones.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Broken hose clips or plastic pieces

Last Friday one of the hose clips or plastic pieces broke off. I have a DC 25. I called Dyson that afternoon and told them of my problem. The rep told me that they would send me a new hose in 7 to 10 days. I received it today the 26th. I had no problems with them at all. They were not exactly friendly, but were curtious. They didn't give me any run around, just wanted to know when I had purchased, where, and the serial number. Hose is installed and working.

Hose broke within 2 days. Customer service has been giving me the run around for over 3 weeks.

Don't buy this p.o.s.

Get an Aerus Lux or Miele instead.

Called Dyson on 2/9/10 around 10:00am (CST). Put me on hold for over 15 minutes. Said the hose was on back order until tomorrow. I should be receiving the hose "some time next week". Fool me once...

The smaller blue tab on the hose of my Dyson DC25 Blueprint also broke. I called last week and they said they will ship me a new hose in 3-5 days. If I don't get it by the end of this week, I will post an update.

Here's an update -- Dyson DOES stand behind their products! I wrote an email to Dyson about my experience and how disappointed I was because I loved the vacuum. Exactly one day after I returned the vacuum, they called with an offer I couldn't refuse for a new Dyson 25 Animal. Not an outstanding offer, but after a day of looking at other brands, it was clear I wasn't going to like the alternatives. It's supposed to be here in 3 to 5 business days... we'll see.
