Dyson DC15 Animal

I purchased the Dyson DC15 Animal vacuum not because I have animals but because my two year old has bad asthma. And ever since I have been using it he HAS been doing better, however, I am not happy with the product at all.

My first DC15 Animal which I had for about 3 months before it started showing signs of a problem. When I would put the handle back into the upright position it would shut off, it made using the attachments impossible.

I called Dyson and got NO WHERE with them. Finally, I went back to Lowe's and they exchanged it for me because at least they were standing behind their products.

SO, here I am 3 weeks later and my "new" Dyson is already not working properly. This one will NOT shut off. I pressed the red button and used my DC15 Animal as normal when I went to turn it off the swutch no longer worked.

So I unplugged it, and now that is how I need to turn it on and off because again Dyson customer service is not helping me at all.

I feel disappointed. I feel like it is an expensive machine and it is not even worth the money for being a good solid product, but if it is helping my son it is worth every penny.

I just hope no one else is having the issues I am.

Dyson DC15 The Ball
by: Katie Lucas

I would encourage EVERYONE to buy a Dyson! My husband gave me mine when they first came out because we have 3 cats. I whined about vacuuming all the time so he thought the Dyson would help.

True to the designer's word about never losing suction--this vacuum sets the standard for for the word "vacuum" ! We have both hardwood and carpet in our home and the Dyson works equally on both--OUTSTANDING!

I love having the extension wand to clean the ceiling fan blades (cat hair!), vents, etc. LOTS of cord which is always essential. I feel like the designer REALLY listened to what women want in a vacuum and came up with the different models. I was also very impressed with the help on the phone line.

I took apart the cannister and could NOT get the bottom to fit back on. I felt like I was going to break the plastic but the woman on the phone told me how get it to go back on within a couple of minutes.

I KNOW I'll ONLY buy Dyson in the future ! (In fact I'm looking at a 'fan' i.e. air multiplier right now.) Thanks for a great product that makes me ENJOY VACUUMING!

Dyson DC15 Animal

This vacuum was not cheap. I HATE IT!

I have all hardwood and tile in my home. I have area rugs in some of the rooms. The Dyson DC15 Animal vacuum cleaner has no ability to go over the slight height difference between the hardwood and area rug. It leaves all sorts of dirt everywhere!

It also cannot pick up items such as a kernel of popped or unpopped popcorn. It just pushed items like this along. After spending the amount of money I did on this... I hate to get another vacuum but I am forced to as this does NOT clean!!

Actually, a central vac system can be a lot worse unless you put it into your garage. I am a salesperson who sells both central vacs as well as Dyson. A central vac has a very large cannister that is constantly putting a lot more dust into your home than a dyson. Quality wise, the dyson is 99% of the time more effective than a central vac. Plus with the central vacs you have an extremely long hose that you must drag around your house causing paint removal on corners, baseboards etc.

Install a central vacuum system for less than the cost of a Dyson
by: Anonymous

Dysons do an adequate job for people with allergies and asthma but a central vacuum system is the only 100% dust free way to clean. Allergists often recommend central vacuum systems. Most people think they are too expensive or too difficult to install. My son installed one in his existing home and he said it was really not very difficult.
