Dyson DC25 Animal first pass

So seriously...a $550 vacuum!? Well that's what we thought until we actually purchased the Dyson DC25 Animal vacuum cleaner!

If you consider that you spend hours upon hours living in your home and breathing in that air, you'll soon realize it's worth it! We had a very high end canister vacuum before. We were unhappy with the idea that you have to wrestle with the canister and the vacuum want ect. Then there's the odor it put out! (Even after a full warranty cleaning).

We read reviews and decided with having two dogs, we need to get something better. The Dyson DC25 reviews were VERY good so we bit the bullet. Just to let you know, we had vacuumed 1 week prior to getting our Dyson DC25 animal.

We vacuumed at the normal speed but with such ease. That ball really makes it easy. I imagine if you have any type of arthritis this would make life much easier. Anyway, after vacuuming our living room (30x40) or so.

You MUST look at the photo above (it went over the MAX fill line on the other side)! That is honestly how much pet hair, dust and dander we picked up in just one vacuum session with the purple wonder!

The DC25 Animal is also asthma and allergy friendly so we're looking forward to cleaner air. Happy vacuuming!

The Dyson DC25 is awkward to use
by: Jackie

I am a pro in the cleaning industry and do side jobs for small offices and personal friends vacation homes. I was REALLY SHOCKED AND DEEPLY ANGRY, at the rip-off of dyson.

I have to use some of these products as people insist on getting them. The Dyson DC25 upright is a load of mud. It doesn't even get up fine grain kitty litter... it blows it away from the front of the vacuum, and up under edge of cabinets etc.

It is heavy to push, pull... and it is awkward to use w/the tools... as in doing a ceiling fan... it falls over and the hose is not long enough and you can't use it in tight places depending on furniture placement.

It's a sad thing to rip people off for so much money and give them nothing in return. I have resorted after having to use these so much to bringing my own and I got mine after using a popular consumer site that is impartial in in grading of products.

It's better to check first for 29$ a year on a product you want than to be sorry forever and just plain mad.

Dyson DC25
by: Betsi

I bought my Dyson DC25 upright vacuum cleaner several months ago after three other vacuums broke within four years. I love it! The ball makes it easy to maneuver. Everything clicks into place - beautiful engineering. I have a dog that sheds constantly and the Dyson picks it all up easily. Don't hesitate to buy Dyson!!

Dyson DC25 Animal Ball Upright
by: Laura

I purchased the Dyson DC25 Animal Ball upright vacuum today and it went directly back to the store. I have been a canister vacuum user all my life and was mesmerized by Dyson's marketing schemes--so, I decided to give it a try.

Not only was the suction power weak, but the price is enough to make anyone cry. I definitely would not recommend this vacuum to anyone. I think I'll go back to my $3 vacuum I got from a garage sale (Kenmore Canister Bag).

Pros-
Ball (the mobility)
Tools

Cons-
Suction power
Power cord is too short
Vacuum Hose is tight and hard to work
$$$

Dyson DC 25 animal
by: Mary Wingate

Disappointed in attachments. Hose is too stiff. Moving around using attachments is awkward. Angled brush attachment is impractical and awkward. Too many buttons to push and remember where they are to use attachments.

My 1970s Electrolux brush attachment was ideal-round with thick, soft bristles and the hose, either with or without the wand, was much more user friendly and pliable. I used it to dust anything from baseboards, window sills to lamp shades and furniture. With the Dyson DC 25 animal this sort of usage is impossible or at best clumsy.

Suction is good. Lives up to animal hair claim. Bagless and one unit I like. Is a little heavy.

Dyson DC25 animal ball bagless
by: Paula

too short, no way to lengthen if you are a bit taller, I am only 5'7" and you have to put the handle nearly to the floor for the brush to spin. Weird. Makes ribs in carpet rather than nice brush marks, ugly and for the money--no way!

Dyson DC25 vacuum
by: Barb Springer

I brought this Dyson DC25 vacuum cleaner today from Sears. I had the Dyson DC07 which I love. It fell back on my ceramic tile and the entire plastic handle broke. I will have to get it replaced. Anyway it was about 10 years old and the suction is still terrific. So because I have two dogs I bought the Dyson DC25.

Since it was so expensive I thought for sure I would be impressed over the DC07. Not so much. I was disappointed. The suction was the same. And it seemed heavier than the DC07. I am also 5'8" tall and the darn thing is short for me! The DC07 was perfect for my height so now I have to lean over a little which hurts my back more.

I paid less for the DC07 years ago and still feel more comfortable with it and to me it is no different than the DC25. Bumbed out and do not think it was worth the money at all.

DC25 Animal works!
by: JC Cota

I recently went thru a mini mission to purchase the Dyson DC25 Animal vacuum cleaner. At fist glance this is an awesome piece of machinery. Cool, streamline look and very light weight.

Don't let the cool looks fool you...this vaccum does work! i consider myself to be a clean person in general so I was amazed at the amount of dirt in disgusting fur ball like images it produced from the smallest carpet spaces. I quickly learned to take my time and to go over all areas more than once to maximize the dirt picked up.

The only draw back here is having to empty it so often but if this is the trade off for being a heck of a lot cleaner and letting my 1 year old crawl around with the piece of mind that our carpet is as clean as it can be at that moment thru vaccuming...so be it. In a whole, the Dyson DC 25 Animal is easy to use, maneuvers great, attachments are easy to use and access, and when U see the amount of dirt picked from the first area you vacuum, you'll be hooked and be very glad that you invested the money for this vacuum and vacuum company.

Suction is strong, ball makes it a breeze to go into areas where you'd be hard pressed to because of space. The other thing was emptying and cleaning the filter and canister is so easy and clean, never having to touch the dirt balls.

For me and my family there wasn't another 1st choice and we're glad that we invested in the Dyson DC 25-Animal vacuum because it does what it says it will do...it works!!!

Dyson DC 25 with the ball
by: Nan

This is my second Dyson and bought the DC25 vacuum because of the ball, although my 5 year old original still works fine. I do not like several things about it...

First the cord is so short it won't reach between any 2 rooms in my house. Second, the wand that extends out of the hose is one looooonnnnggg piece. It doesn't bend and is very hard to maneuver.

They had a perfect vacuum and all I can say is I think they made it worse. Make the ball style w/ the original features and I'd say you have a winner!!!

Dyson DC25 all floors
by: Anonymous

My housemate and I had a wimpy, small vacuum cleaner for about 5 years. The carpet had been cleaned once or twice a year, but was still not clean. I decided to buy a Dyson DC25 upright. The first time I used it the canister got 1/3 filled from just vacuuming the middle of the living room. (It is not a large room). When I vacuumed the whole room-- still the same great results.

Light weight, small enough to store in the closet (apartment is small), easy to empty the canister, never need to buy replacement bags or belt. This is NOT a luxury vacuum cleaner, since cleanliness is not a luxury, but a necessity for good health.

Dyson DC25 is the best
by: Frank

THE DYSON DC 25 IS ONE OF THE BEST VACUUMS WE HAVE EVER OWNED, LIGHT WEIGHT,VERY EASY TO MANEUVER. GREAT SUCTION POWER, EASY TO CLEAN FILTERS AND DON'T HAVE TO CLEAN THEM AS OFTEN AS SOME OF THE OTHER VACUUMS WE'VE OWNED. ONLY TWO NEGATIVE THINGS ABOUT OUR DYSON 25, THE ATTACHMENTS THAT CAME WITH IT AREN'T AS GOOD AS SOME OF OUR OTHER VACUUMS, ALSO THE SUCTION HEAD IS SMALLER THAN MOST OF OUR OTHER VACUUMS WE HAVE OWNED.

Dyson DC 25 vac
by: Need service!!

I have been using Dyson DC 25 vac only a year. However, started to have problems. Since they offered 5 year warranty, I called Dyson customer service. Rep sounded like they were just reading a manual, was not helpful at all.

After demanding to get some services, they directed me to their authorized dealer. I drove to the location and spoke to the dealer not knowing how long it was going to take fix the problems. At this point, I still do not know when I am getting my vacuum back. Dealer also mentioned that Dyson vacuum was overrated, so expensive and unreliable. Yet, they are Dyson's dealer??? Did not make any sense.

After using this vacuum for only a year, I should not have any problems on the product or the customer services. Feels like I paid a lot of money for nothing!! Very disappointed with the product and their after cares. What a rip off!!

The DC25 doesn't work
by: Ann

The DC25 is fabulous when it WORKS. Shortly after I got it, it started to shoot sparks. Dyson has "repaired" it and the problem continues.

They promised a new machine but sent me back the old one with the sparking issue. NEVER BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!! They don't stand behind it!

Stay away from Dyson
by: Anonymous

Bought my Dyson DC25 on December 13, 2008. Suction will work only periodically.

Neither Best Buy or Dyson will exchange. Now have to wait two or three weeks to get it back.

Should have bought a Hoover. While Dyson's products don't suck, their customer service does.

STAY AWAY FROM DYSON!
