Dyson Slim

I purchased a store model after being told it would be covered under warranty. The first repair was covered. Within four months of owning it, it broke again and Dyson refused to cover it since it was a demo model. I invested in an expensive vacuum that lasted for less than six months. I will never purchase a Dyson again.

Poor quality.
Poor warranty.
Poor service.

The Upright DC Dyson Slim

I loved my Dyson Slim in the beginning. It seemed to work very well, and I was excited, I thought I had found a perfect vacuum cleaner. Then I started having things break or quit working on the machine in a short time, that is when things all began to go down hill.

I called the service people at Dyson, they had me try several things on the vacuum and then each time at their request and expense I had to mail the vacuum in to be repaired. Because I am disabled I had to get someone to pickup my Dyson Slim vacuum to be shipped each time, 4 or 5 times I believe, and each time the vacuum was returned it either still did not work, or in fixing one part on the vacuum another was broken, or the part was put in incorrectly. Each time my Dyson vacuum was sent in to be fixed I was without a vacuum cleaner for several weeks.

After this last episode of receiving my vacuum back fixed of one problem but now having another problem (the vacuum will not stand up by itself, so it falls over when one is not holding it , or it is not propped up by something else). I sent a email to the support team at Dyson to let them know of the problems I had been having with their product that I had spent over $500 on and had a 5 year warranty. I received an email back that was like they had not even read my email. They only sent me the same service phone # I had been calling before.

I am so very disappointed in Dyson, what good is it to have a 5 year warranty, or service department if they do not take care of problems with the products. I would have been the first to stand on the roof tops and shout the praises of Dyson if only the company would have followed through on the quality of their product and service. Disappointed in what could have been the perfect vacuum.

I HATE IT! I have had the Dyson DC18 Slim for two years now and it has been such a high maintenance machine. I have to constantly (at least once a week) take the canister outside and tap the sides to get all the fine dust out or my machine won't pick up anything at all. I am so mad I paid so much money for this. I can't wait until it dies!

Dyson DC18 slim

The Dyson DC18 Slim vacuum is great when it works. it has been in for servicing 3 or 4 times in the year i have had it. Service has been great though and everything has been repaired without charge.

I don't like the filter system to empty the dirt. It is a complicated system, and if you don't put it together exactly right, it won't work.
