Dyson

by Family Woman
(Connecticut)

The Dyson worked for about a month and then it started giving trouble sucking up the dirt in the main mouth.

I am stuck using the handheld attachment until I buy another vacuum and that's giving trouble sucking up the dirt now..

I am shocked and appalled at their misleading advertisements. The warranty is misleading because they charge you if you need to repair the vacuum.

I should not have spent over $600 on a vacuum. It's all hype. Be careful, I regret being seduced by Dyson's marketing and then buying this brand. It's not worth the high price.

Dyson DC07 was a Disappointment
by: Anonymous

Everyone I knew who owned a Dyson raved about it until I finally got one of my own. After assembling it, I tried it out, and got a distinct feeling that the suction was not that strong. After a few uses, where I was swiping the same patch of carpet over and over again while staring at the same crumbs that won't lift, I got out my old Hoover. Sure enough, my old Hoover picked it up just like that. But I was determined to give it another chance and another, until I found myself raging at how it was NOT picking up the crumbs! Finally, after my kids left a scatter of Cheez-it crumbs on the floor, I took both vacuums out and tested them, and my suspicions were confirmed. The Dyson had worse suction. I could have gotten three Hoovers w/ the cost of one Dyson. It was the worse buy I've ever made!

My Dyson lasted a while...
by: Anonymous

We have had our yellow Dyson for just over four years. The last time I used it, it had that "belt is going out" smell. My husband couldn't get to the belt so we took it into the Sears service center. I just got my repair estimate for $170 to replace the clutch. They can't just replace a belt, which is the problem as I understand it. I have been very happy with my Dyson up to this point but I prefer a vacuum that I or my husband can do the small repairs/replacements on. Now I have to figure out what to buy next!

I've had no problems
by: MikeB, Atlanta GA

Sorry to hear about that. My wife and I bought a Dyson Animal about 3-4 years ago and we've had no trouble with it at all.

I haven't had to deal with a defect, so I can't comment on their warranty, but I will agree that $600 is a lot to pay for a vacuum. I'm still not sure why I did! :)
