Electrolux Aptitude

by Pam
(Geneva, NY)

In 40 years I've had 3 vacs. The first a cannister Electrolux, second Kirby and the last one, I purchased 2 years ago, an Electrolux Aptitude vacuum cleaner.

The switch burned out, burned my hand and I was told by the repairman that it would be $100.00 to fix. This is a man who kept my 30 year old Kirby running well till this day.

I strongly advise anyone not to purchase an Electrolux. I was told they are really a cheap Eureka vacuum...

Interesting to hear that, Pam.

I did some research on Amazon.com to check user reviews. There are 18 reviews of the Electrolux Aptitude EL 5010 vacuum, where 11 of them are 4 or 5 stars and 5 reviews are 1 star.

The general impression of the reviews is that it's a good vacuum for the low price although as you mentioned, it can break easily since it's plastic...
