Electrolux Epic

My Electrolux Epic is a 15 year old vacuum cleaner that is still going strong. I am searching out there to find another or see if there is something better.

Not so far it seems. I love that this machine is still powerful and can go flat so vacuuming under furniture is easy. All the tools I need are right there on the canister.

I vacuum at least once a week for a 3,000 sq. ft. home with mostly hard wood, marble, laminate and carpeting. I have owned a few other brands but so far nothing can compare.

Since it is a canister type the only draw back is doing the stairs. It came with a small power head that I have only used twice. Too much of a bother to get it out and switch heads.

The Electrolux Epic bags are way over priced so I get the model I need at a discount store and have never had any issues using them.

I do hope to find a model that is lighter in weight so there is more ease of doing the stairs.

Electrolux Epic 8000
by: m trainer

The Electrolux Epic 8000 is a fabulous vacuum. I have hardwood floors, tile and antique carpets. I use the old Electrolux attachment that does both hard floors and carpet (you flip it over - it is a combo tool I had with an ancient Electrolux vacuum and it fit my Epic 8000 that I purchased new).

It is a bit heavy. I have had it for about 11 years, and love it. I am trying to find another for my Mother, but the new Electrolux vacuums look kind of crappy.
