Euro Pro Shark Infinity NV29 (same as NV30, NV31)

by Isaac
(Addison, AL)

I bought the Euro Pro Shark Infinity NV29 vacuum cleaner at a local wal-mart and can't be more pleased with the results.

The suction is incredible and I could not believe the amount of dirt it picks up from carpets. Although (in my opinion) this is an excellent vacuum, there are some silly design flaws.

Many people complain about their infinity vacuum losing suction, but I think I have a solution for that problem.

One of the flaws (again in my opinion) is in the cyclones. The dirt that gets trapped in the cyclones isn't very easy to get out. Most people just pour water over the cyclones which makes things worse!

I used my infinity vacuum 3 times, once over at my friends house (which isn't very big) once on the area rug we have, and third on my car, none of them very dirty, except for my friends house.

I emptied the cyclones every time I vacuumed and then I "back washed" them. I couldn't believe the amount of dirt that came out of them!

Now to back wash them, take a garden hose, with some good water pressure behind it and run water up in the ROUND hole, this forces the dirt and junk to be flushed out the opposite way it came in, then it should restore the suction power.

Also the manufacturer exaggerates about the amount of cleaning and maintenance on the vacuum cleaner, but hey, a lot cheaper that a Dyson or other brands.

can I give it less than 1?
by: Anonymous

Horribly designed. The hose clogs at the drop of a hat and good luck cleaning it. The company suggested I mail back the unit and they'll let me know how much it would cost to repair it...MAIL IT BACK, the darn thing weighs a ton! And how would I box it up. Then they told me to use a bent clothes hanger to try and remove the clog, never mind the manual says never, ever do that. Well the hanger trick worked once, but isn't long enough to get at the clog a second time.

Even when it's working, when you empty the cup you expose yourself to a huge cloud of dust and dirt, not to mention cleaning the filter!

The thing of it is, I live alone and only have to vacuum a small area two or three times a month...it's not picking up a ton of stuff and the darn machine still can't handle the load.

Worst money I ever spent on a appliance, bar none! Pity the fool who buys it.

Love this vacuum
by: Anonymous

I read comments about this vacuum before I bought it. I have had it for almost a year and have absolutely no complaints with its operation! I can complain about emptying the canister - the bottom flap doesn't open so easily and recently the little clip that keeps the handle in place broke and the vacuum needs that clip - otherwise the suction is perfect - i've never had to back wash or anything........

You could break a leg using this vacuum!
by: Ann C.

Shortly after I bought this vacuum, I too figured out that to keep the vacuum pressure at its greatest, it had to be clean -- that includes the cyclones and the canister. One thing though, when the vacuum is empty and you are using it with the extension hose (for the steps or draperies) this thing will fall over in a heartbeat. I had gotten more bruises from this thing. My walls are nicked to no end from the vacuum falling over from the suction. The vacuum just sucks so hard, that the thing falls over. It has scraped my brand new stainless steel refrigerator and my washer. You never know when it is going to happen -- but it is always when using the extension pole with the brush on the end or some other piece.

Right now, the extension pole broke where it snaps into place with a little piece of plastic. It works well, but it needs a lot of improvements.
I would rate it 5* for sucking power and 1 for design.

Owner's manual
by: Anonymous

I've never had any problems really except trying to get a user manual because my vacuum was a display and didn't come with one. I never have to take it apart every 10 minutes so I feel sorry for the person who does

Great vacuum
by: me

Great vacuum, don't try to vacuum stuff that it is not designed for and it will work great, we have 4 dogs and it picks up everything just fine. We are having problems finding a replacement wheel, all of the brushes have worn off, but we use it 7 days a week.

It breaks a lot
by: Anonymous

I never had any problems with it until it started breaking about 2 months into owning it. First the hose, then the filter, then the strap on the other end of the hose.. puh. But it works good besides that..

VERY BAD VACUUM
by: Anonymous

The worst vacuum I've ever spent good money on. Every 10 minutes I have to take the bottom of the machine apart to empty the clogged hose. It has great suction though until that happens. So as long as you're prepared to stop to service 6 times an hour, it may be the machine for you.

So when they say, "It NEVER loses suction" they mean inside of 10 minutes. I guess that's their definition of Infinity.
