Garry Professional Vacuum

by Brandon
(Truckee CA)

Garry's website claims that their vacuum has excellent suction power. With a 3 amp motor, that's not the case. My 12 amp Hoover Wind Tunnel has at least 3 times the suction. When the rotating brush extension is put to the couch or carpet, the rotating brushes stop.

I plugged the Garry extension sweeper brush onto my Hoover, and man it worked great! The Garry vacuum's motor is so weak that it barely spins the extension sweeper brush. Having dogs and cats that sit on the couch, we need the extension sweeper to have power, and Garry's professional vacuum ($350) definitely DOES NOT DELIVER!

What a piece of crap, I'm out well over $100 due to shipping costs. Customer service was a joke, and they wont admit that their vacuum is substandard.

Our Wind Tunnel is old and heavy, but we'll be sticking with it because it works unlike the Garry.

Garry Professional is JUNK!
by: Anonymous

I just broke the fan on my 2nd so called "professional vac". I had almost $500.00 in the first one and it lasted about 1 week before the fan broke. I paid the $50.00 to have the new one shipped to me and $25.00 to ship the old one back to them. The second one just broke it's cheap plastic fan yesterday after 1 week!! I am so angry!! I have spent $575.00 and used both vacuums a total of 10 times!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK!!!

Garry vacuum is a SCAM
by: Al

Do not buy this vacuum. It is a cheap Chineese import that will fail. That is what the people who sell this garbage have planned. My vac broke in 3 months. Lifetime warranty, no problem. Just pay between $50 and $90 for shipping you the new one and return the broken one at your expense. And if the new one fails, just pay $50 to $90 shipping again for the replacement. This could go on forever with you always paying for the new vac. These vacs are of the lowest quality and could not cost the seller more than $20 to buy. So they are making a profit selling you the replacement unit each time you are foolish enough to pay. And if you don't return the broken one, they charge your credit card the full amount of a new vac. It happened to me.
I have close to $500 charged to my credit card for 2 vacs, and neither one works.

Garry Vac's R Crap
by: Bob Petti

There isn't enough bad things to be said about how bad this company is from the product down through their customer service dept..or should I say, Lack of..customer service. Two things are a definite if you buy from them, 1) The Vacuum will break, 2) You will be frustrated and pi--ed off by the sad excuse of a customer service dept. They are rude and well deserving to be throttled by the neck if you could only get your arm through the phone line!!!! There is enough written to discourage anyone from buying from them, sadly this info can't reach everyone who is caught by their infomercial.

Garry is a inferior to Dyson cleaner
by: Anonymous

Infomercials show Garry able to lay flat and vacuum beneath furniture--it did not deliver the ability to do that as shown in the advertisement.

Bragged about lightweight construction weighing only 9 lbs, yet was difficult to push over the carpet. It was more laborious to use than my Dyson.

It claims to be cheaper and more powerful than the Dyson and Oreck. When I received this product, I wanted to test the legitmacy of their claim their product was equal or better than Dyson and Oreck. I have a Dyson, so I vacuumed my home first with it, then ran the GARRY over the same surfaces--nothing was found in the vacuum bag of the Garry. The Dyson left nothing to be picked up.

When I saw the extra belt, and read the instructions of picking lose items off the floor first before you vacuum, I remembered the infomercial showing the GARRY picking up pretty good size, multiple pieces of candy. Do I want to run around examining and scooping up anything I think this machine might pick up and damage the unit?

Then I thought to myself, why did I buy this machine? The Infocommercial made fraudulent claims. When I reported that to them, they said I could buy an additional attachment that would go under my furniture. I was furious.... it was proported to do that without the necessity of changing pieces on the ad. When I firmly stuck to those statements they did refund my money, of course I was out of the handling and shipping fee they charged me on the initial purchase ($56.00 plus taxes on those charges), and my return cost going through UPS of $18.00. It was a valuable lesson not to purchase products this way.

Garry vacuum problems
by: Anonymous

I too bought into the garry vacuum.. I have had it just a few months and my vacuum also spitted out the inner parts of something white. It sounded like the whole thing was going to blow up. Maybe we can get a class action against Garry vacuum for selling crap. They should just send another one for what they sell you. Anyone want to go after them with a class action suit please email me at ccromer1958@yahoo.com and lets see what we can do together to get them to refund our money.

DO NOT BUY A GARRY
by: Anonymous

i got not 1, not 2 but 3 and they all broke (each time I only got to use them a few times)..they charge you to ship the replacements & then you have to pay to send the broken vacuum back!! I could have bought a brand new vacuum from another company with the money I spent on this junk..do not buy this product.. the return policy is awful!!

Garry Vacuum Cleaner
by: Diane

WARNING: Do not get involved with the GARRY vacuum cleaner company. Remember when your parents would tell you to stay away from the bad kid and you did not. You would get in lots of trouble and that leads to many people being disappointed and hurt. Well that is my story.

From product to everyone I spoke to. The sales guy was real nice. Go figure that. Oh those free bags for life are $10.00 to ship four. That doesn't sound free to me.

If this company that has only been in business less than a year goes belly up we have none of these "free" bags. They are specially designed and can be found no where else. That is there words not mine.

And there goes the life time guarantee! Trust me you are going to need that benefit. I wish I would have done a lot more research and not gone into a coma watching the Garry infomercial. Live and Learn and some times the hard way.

garry vacuum
by: Janet K

Do not buy this vacuum! We purchased one 11/27/2009 for $338.00. It's 2/26/2010 & I've probably used it 15 times. It's extremely noisy & today I was vacuuming fragments of glass from a broken lightbulb & it began to smoke & make even a louder noise. Customer service refused to refund our money. They said they would send us a new vacuum if we shipped the old one back at our own expense. Please learn from our expensive mistake. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE!!! It is a substandard product & they do not stand behind it.

DO NOT BUY GARRY
by: Anonymous

The vacuum we purchased was used for only two months (after waiting one month to receive it - with only one bag included), and something inside broke with a loud sound. Large and small pieces of white plastic began falling out, and the engine would no longer work. After several calls to their customer service, no one returns the calls and nothing will be done.
DO NOT ORDER THIS VACUUM - IT IS A PIECE OF JUNK!

VERY BAD VACUUM
by: Anonymous

I had bought the the Garry professional vacuum and had used it for over a month. This is the worst vacuum I have ever owned. Anything you vacuum up the last thing when you turn your vacuum off spits out the dirt back on the rug. I would not advise you to buy this vacuum, but if you do use caution!

Garry Pro Vac -pleasantly surprised after first day of using
by: casha

I ordered one and then read all of the negative reviews When it arrived yesterday, I took pictures of it as I disassembled it out of the box thinking I would need to know how to pack it up again since it wasn't going to work very well. I was pleasantly surprised to find it working just fine. I have only used it one day though. Although the suction doesn't seem as powerful as some of the bagless ones I have and have had, it has plenty of suction. I was able to get my whole living, dining and bedroom done without getting exhausted by having to stop and empty it all the time. It also didn't eat everything, like carpet edges, cords, etc., as I always try to avoid them, but there was something easier about not haveing all that extra power. I even had enough energy left to clean the carpet with the hoover steam cleaner.
I will write more after more time passes..
