Hoover Central Vacuum Systems

The Hoover S5620-070 And S5604-070 Reviewed

The Hoover central vacuum systems S5620-070 and S5604-070 are two Hoover's flagship models for central vacuuming.
Installing and implementing these central vacuums are relatively easier compared to other central vacuuming systems.

The large canisters and stainless steel compact appearance create a must-have solution.

The Hoover central vacuums S5620-070 and S5604-070 are designed to clean up to 8,000 square feet and comes equipped with a garage kit for installation.

The central module is only responsible for the suction and does not actually remove debris from the carpet.

Common features of the Hoover S5620-070 and S5604-070 include:
  • High capacity metal canister that holds five or nine gallons of debris.
  • Powerful 13.5 amp motor that can clean an 8,000 sq ft house
  • Made out of quality metal and ABS materials for lifelong durability

Hoover central vacuum cleaners S5620-070 and S5604-070 come with an installation kit that contains 96 ft of 2-inch PVC pipe, 3 inlet covers, 3 short elbows, 3 wall plates, 6 45-degree elbows, 6 wide elbows, 10 couplers, 2 Y-90's, 6 straps, 150 ft. low-voltage wire, 12 protector plates, and 12 wire ties. A gas tool kit is included that contains a 30-Foot Hose, Upholstery Nozzle, Dusting Brush, Crevice Tool, and Hose Storage.

The Hoover S5620-070 uses a 13.5 amp motor that uses a proprietary three-stage design to maximize efficiency. It has the ability of producing 465 air watts and uses a 136-sealed suction technology.

The S5620-070 comes with a seven-year warranty on parts and labor. Additionally, it features 360-degree ventilated shroud and has a maximum CFM of 97. The device can hold up to five gallons of debris in a stainless steel tank. The entire system uses metal construction and professional-grade materials.

The Hoover S5604-070 is exactly the same as the S5620-070 except it contains a maintenance free micro-tex filter, ABS construction, and a nine-gallon debris container rather than a five gallon one. Additionally, the S5604-070 is black whereas the S5620-070 is a beige creme color.

Advantages

The Hoover central vacuum systems S5620-070 and S5604-070 have many advantages over traditional vacuum cleaners because they are able to deliver healthier air. The collected dust is extracted from your floor and delivered to the collection debris canister in your garage.

The motors of central vacuum systems surpass that of a traditional vacuum, bringing more power to every room in your house. Central vacuums are much more convenient than traditional vacuums because you do not need to stress about power cords or lugging the machine around to each room.

The brush and hose simply get plugged into the wall, where it is connected to your central system. Additionally, these systems increase the overall value of your home. These Hoover central vacuums are usually stored in the garage or in a closet - out of plain sight. This helps reduce noise, pollution, and electricity.

Disadvantages

While central vacuum cleaners are great inventions, they pose a series of risks and disadvantages. These units are primarily difficult to install once the house has been built.

The costs of such systems add up quickly because a professional contractor must install them. The main canister alone costs up to $1,000, not including the wands and hoses to clean the house. Overall, installation costs can be in the $5,000 to $10,000 range depending on the type of house.

Consumer Reviews

Consumers like:
  • Ability to vacuum multiple rooms in the house without carrying a vacuum
  • Ease of use after installation and not having to empty canister frequently

Consumers don't like:
  • Installing the vacuums can be a challenge if you do not have a contractor
  • The suction is less than perfect when using two vacuums at once.

Summary

The Hoover central vacuum systems S5620-070 and S5604-070 are not for everyone, however; they are a great idea if you are in the market for a house, or renovating your current estate.

Purchasing with a pre-existing home may cause havoc and be more difficult than it is worth. Installation costs and the cost of the canister will deter many people. The convenience of having on-demand vacuuming in all of the rooms, however; is worth it to most homeowners.
