Hoover Mach5

Hoover Mach 5 Multi chamber

Hoover Mach 5 Multi chamber

The Hoover Mach5 has a terrible cheap design and it only lasted a year. When I thought it needed a belt, after buying the belts and discovered while switching the belts, that the belt itself was not bad, but had worn through the plastic and and that was why it kept coming off the drive wheel. Very poor design and strongly don't recommend purchasing Hoover products.

The only way to fix this vacuum is to replace the entire plastic lower end... in other words, time to buy a new vacuum cleaner after only 1 year of use... just after the warranty expires!!!

Hoover Mach 5
by: Wayne

The Hoover Mach 5 vacuum seemed great right out of the box but soon burned out the v-belt which is the one of two belts that should never go. Now I'm on the third already in a year. Hate the fact that there are two cavities at the front on each side of the roller brush that catch a lot of fine dust that then falls out on occasion. You would think that Hoover would know by now not to create that type of cavity. Not recommended.

Hoover Mach 5 Multi Chamber
by: Anonymous

We've owned the Hoover Mach 5 Multi Chamber vacuum cleaner for a little over a year. The dust and dirt are trapped at the ends of the brush/roller and every time you use it you're blowing old dust and dirt throughout your room. There is no way to clean this out without taking out screws and taking the machine apart.

Now it has started cutting off after about 5 minutes of use. It won't come back on until the motor has cooled off. I'm guessing it's overheating.

Don't buy this model and I wouldn't buy a Hoover at all.

I read that Techtronics, a Chinese/Hong-Kong based company, has purchased Hoover in 2007-2008. All Hoover operations are now in China. Maybe that's the reason for the lack of quality?

Hoover Mach 5 windtunnel
by: Brandy Hicks

I have had the Hoover Mach 5 windtunnel vacuum less than 2 years and it will not even suck up paper off the floor. The motor shuts off after one room and it takes hours just to vacuum my 1600 sq ft house. It get dirty quick and is not good with dog hair. Everything I bought this vacuum for it does not live up to. Don't waste your money.
