Hoover SteamVac cleaners are moderately priced from $149 to $185, so they won’t break the budget.

Each has two onboard reservoirs; one for dirty water and the other for the hot water and cleaning solution. Both can be filled and emptied quickly and easily.

One challenge with the Hoover Steam vacuum cleaner is that it tends to leave streaks on the carpet. This can be overcome by going over the carpet a second time in a diagonal direction.

The Hoover F5914-900 Steam Cleaner is an upgrade to the Hoover Steam Vac cleaner line. The upgrade is the addition of a Clean Surge feature which acts as a deep cleaner in those high traffic areas and for those tough spots.

If you have several heavily soiled areas in your home, this is the steam vacuum for you. There is up to 50 percent more cleaning solution dispensed via a fingertip control when using the Clean Surge feature.

Then, the five SpinScrub brushes on the steam vac work hard to clean deep stains. When filling the water tank, use the hottest tap water possible and the cleaning will be more effective.

Many times, a single pass over even set-in stains will make them disappear. Carpets dry in no time since the Hoover steam carpet vacuum reclaims the water so efficiently.

Smaller areas, stairs, or upholstery are best pre-treated and then cleaned using the 8-foot stretch hose containing two SpinScrub brushes. Carpets look like new after using this unit due to its incredible suction power.

A lengthy power cord, beltless operation and an 11-inch wide cleaning path are some of the other benefits of this Hoover Steam Vac carpet cleaner.

Another good choice for those who enjoy clean carpets at their convenience, the Hoover F7452900 SteamVac All-Terrain 12-Amp Carpet and Hard-Floor Cleaner tackles both carpet and hard-surfaces and removes dirt you can’t even see.

Just as with Hoover’s other steam vacuums, SpinScrub brushes on this model do a great job of pulling up dirt and cleaning high traffic areas.

The hard-floor package includes soft wheels and a squeegee and makes hard surfaces look like new again. Puddles of water are left behind after the first sweep. Go back over them with the ’spill clean up’ mode, and the puddles will disappear.

Tile and grout aren’t as successfully cleaned using this unit. Drying time is minimal since the Hoover steam vac takes up most of the moisture after deep cleaning the carpet.

This particular model is pretty loud and very heavy. The clean water tank is tricky to get in and out and expensive cleaning solution can be lost.

Once it is installed correctly, some leaking still occurs, but the clean carpets are worth a few drips here and there. Overall, if you want clean carpets, the Hoover F7452900 is an excellent steam cleaning machine.

The Hoover SteamVac Lite is a lighter version of many of the other Hoover steam vac’s, but still performs beautifully.

This model is easy to maneuver around the house and with the attachment, upholstery and stairs are easily and quickly cleaned just as well as the carpet.

The brushes are a bit difficult to clean since they are housed inside a plastic cover. Depending on the nap of your carpet, experiment with the amount of detergent used to get the best result.

One suggestion to Hoover might be that the tanks be manufactured from something other than the plastic that is used currently.

The seals will leak if the water used is too hot, so be careful with the temperature of the heated water.

If you are looking for an agile, light, and effective steam carpet cleaner, this Hoover Steam Vac cleaner is a good choice.
