Hoover U6634-900 problems

by Rudy Pfeifer
(Sussex N.J.)

Right from the start this Hoover U6634-900 wind tunnel upright made a racket while in rug mode. Then one year and two months the motor shot out sparks and smoke before quitting altogether.

I do not think any produce should have and electrical short with sparks from the motor. It took well over an hour being put on hold and being switched from person to person to get some information.

Customer service was not very helpful as they did not have a service center at all for northern NJ. I would have to make a long drive to have a service center confirm it burned out.

I was told the service center would contact Hoover. Most of this centers business is with Hoover, so It wasn't really any one who would speak on the behalf of a consumer that experiences a potentially dangerous electrical fire in an appliance.

After driving an hour to NY I was charged $21.00 to have a service representative open up the vacuum and they would not contact Hoover (I was supposed to have an Authorization #) I paid my money and left the vacuum.

I spent another hour to get a representative that would straighten out the procedure with the service people.

The service people confirmed that it did have an electrical burn out in the motor. It also had a defective brush roller.

The solution they were given by Wanita at TTI Floor care was "Sorry chump you are over the limited warranty". Electrical shorts in the motor and defective rollers are not considered manufacturer defects !!!!

If you are a smart consumer you will never buy a Hoover.
