Hoover Wind Tunnel 2

by Karl
(Ohio)

This is my 2nd unit... first one quit and vacuum repair said replacement would be cheaper than a fix.

But same trouble happened with 2nd one. Multiple times the Wind Tunnel 2 just quits. No pre-noise or any other warning (except maybe lower suction for a while. Nothing is jamming hoses, etc.

If I take the hour or so it takes me to open and clean the paper filter super well (not supposed to need that and access is not easy) it will run again for a while.

I suspect the fine carpet powder we used weeks ago clogged that filter. No more Hoovers for me. Vacuums should last for many years.

Hoover Wind Tunnel broke at 9 months
by: Anonymous

The on/off switch died on my Windtunnel (less than a year old) vacuum. I took it to the repair shop, but it wasn't worth paying to get it fixed. The vacuum salesperson said you cannot get a quality vacuum for under $250. While I was there, a couple was buying a very expensive vacuum for $700 after their two year old Dyson quit working. They don't make 'em like they used to!
