I am buying a Kirby vacuum carpet cleaner

by Elaine
(Launceston. Tasmania)

How do I know whether it is the latest model and whether parts and accessories will always be available as I live in Tasmania, Australia.

I have had a home demonstration, am impressed with the product but don't feel completely happy about after sales service/availability of spares (bags etc) continuing once the promotion is over.

I am paying $2,900 after a discount of $500 - is this enough or can I bargain further?

We are in our 70's - is this the machine for us?
We have been asked to pay the full amount before they will order the machine. Is this fair trading?

Would like your advice a.s.a.p.

by: David G

I live in Ohio (USA) where this product is made
I try to buy US made,as well as Ohio made produts
the Best personal advice I can give you is RUN don't walk away from Kirby. I own this product and to make a very long story short, this product
as well as this company is an embarasment to do business with. RUN AWAY.

Save your money

We have a Kirby - it is extremely heavy; bag replacement is expensive and available at only select stores; and, we cannot find anyone to repair it (so we are about to replace it).

Kirby not worth the money

Don't but a Kirby vac. It is not worth what it cost. My mom had one and it was so heavy she could hardly carry it up the stairs.
