I didn't buy one--thank goodness

A friend has a Dyson and loves it, so I have wanted one for ever so long and planned on getting it as soon as I could afford it.

However, after talking to 2 other owners and reading about 10 reviews here, why would I buy a vacuun that is very heavy and hard to handle, breaks very often, has to be repaired very often and apparently doesn't clean well at all.

I've certainly changed my mind and bought another brand. I would like to ask how those terrible reviews of this machine could get a 5 rating every time??

Anyway, I've spent my money on a Oreck and with the hand held vacumn that comes with it, I couldn't be more pleased.

The cleaning is fantastic, the suction is second to none I've ever owned and I've owned MANY vacumns in my time--good ones. It's not heavy at all and easily goes from carpets to floors with no loss of excellence and suction and I never have to touch the dirt!

There's no accessories on board but the hand held serves that purpose well. I even vacuum my ceiling with it with great success.

If you plan on spending good money on a vacuum, spend it on one that gets a good rating each and every time!!!!

The light blue Dyson
by: Berendina

Wish I had never bought this expensive piece of ****. It now sits in the spare room and we use a second had Miele hoover and am very happy with this one.

The first time the Dyson did not pick up some dirt from the floor I just could not believe my eyes. Kept going over it with the hoover but it just did not pick it up, think it was a piece of a cookie or something. So I thoroughly washed the washable parts, including the hose in the bath and the shower. It did not change a thing. So I called Dyson and they sent me a new hoover mouth. Still the same problems.

Everytime a peanut, raison or something else was not picked up by the Dyson, I had to hoover it up with just the hose. Anyway, suffice to say I stopped using the Dyson rather quickly.
every time I now come across this horrible thing in the spare room I think of all the money wasted on it. Shame.

don't like Dyson

I bought one 3 years ago and wish that I didn't. Does not pick up good-took in for repair after 6 uses-Hard to handle- Still setting in my closet-Dread to think about using it ever again. Will keep for emergency only, that is if my other vacuum fails in the future. Don't be pulled in by commercials.....

Defending Dyson
by: Anonymous

I have a Dyson and must confess to being confused by this review. I purchased mine in 2005 and it has never broken or needed any kind of repair. It works like a dream on everything from hardwood floors to tile to rugs.I love the on board tools and have actually loaned it to people to try who then have purchased their own. It is possible to have a lemon no matter which brand you purchase so maybe this was the case.

In defense of my dyson however I also have to give it five stars
