I didn't buy one--thank goodness

A friend has a Dyson and loves it, so I have wanted one for ever so long and planned on getting it as soon as I could afford it.
However, after talking to 2 other owners and reading about 10 reviews here, why would I buy a vacuun that is very heavy and hard to handle, breaks very often, has to be repaired very often and apparently doesn't clean well at all.
I've certainly changed my mind and bought another brand. I would like to ask how those terrible reviews of this machine could get a 5 rating every time??
Anyway, I've spent my money on a Oreck and with the hand held vacumn that comes with it, I couldn't be more pleased.
The cleaning is fantastic, the suction is second to none I've ever owned and I've owned MANY vacumns in my time--good ones. It's not heavy at all and easily goes from carpets to floors with no loss of excellence and suction and I never have to touch the dirt!
There's no accessories on board but the hand held serves that purpose well. I even vacuum my ceiling with it with great success.
If you plan on spending good money on a vacuum, spend it on one that gets a good rating each and every time!!!!
