Need a lightweight vacuum good for pet hair on carpet flooring and rugs

I need help picking out a good vacuum cleaner. I am disabled and have a bad back, so it needs to be somewhat lightweight, but powerful.

I also have animals which there is always wood shavings and hay pieces laying on the carpet as well. I've already went thru a couple of vacuums, one the belt kept breaking, the other works very good, but you have to stop two or three times each time to unclog it.

And the one i cant use on throw rugs, or it pulls out the strings, then you have to unclog the brush. I need a good vacuum for the carpet and the throw rugs, can you tell me since i have the excess hay and wood chip problem, what kind of vacuum would work for me?
