Oreck Zip Vac Ultra-Cordless Hand Held

Purchased two new Zip Vacs from Oreck factory direct online.

Within two months neither hand held would hold a charge. Operating time less than one minute.

This model is not repairable according to the local Authorized Oreck repair facility. Contacted Oreck, they replaced both units under their warranty.

Problem solved!??

Within two months neither replacement Zip Vac would hold a charge. Contacted Oreck again.

They would not replace the units this time stating I was beyond the one year warranty.

Problem: I have two unusable, unrepairable Zip Vacs. Trash !!

Do not make the same mistake!! Do not purchase a Zip Vac or that matter, even accept it as a free gift from Oreck.

You will have wasted your money and or your time!

I have used my hand held oreck vacuum about 20 times. Last time I went to use it, the motor quit after about 15 seconds. The repair on it was $150 and to replace it was over $200. The Oreck store was brimming with Orecks up right and hand-held to be repaired. High price to buy, high price to fix....I just bought a $28 Dirt Devil compact upright for $28 at a Christmas sale. Good bye, Oreck!!! Too much money for the product. Too little service or help in standing behind the product. The ads say good for 10 years.....I don't think so.

I purchased an Oreck from HSN, which also had a hand held vacuum and an iron.

We bought it in 2005 and had returned the hose from the hand held twice.

The third time we returned it, the store manager told us that it was no longer covered even though our certificate showed a 5 year warranty. He also was quite rude.

He said we were going to put him out of business.

I told him if the hose was made properly, that wouldn't be a problem. No more Oreck's for me.

I too have a Zip that wont hold a charge. I think it worked good for two months, now it not worth fussing with.

I had the same experience. I doubt I will ever consider another Oreck product.
