Rainbow D4 vacuum

When I purchased my Rainbow D4 vacuum cleaner nearly twenty years ago, I thought it was VERY expensive ($1200.00) but I needed a vacuum, it looked like a good one, and it was being demonstrated by the college-age daughter of a good friend.
The Rainbow D4 pulled dirt, and pulled dirt, and pulled dirt, and pulled still more dirt! After six months of vacuuming six days a week, I could get through my entire home on ONE filling of water!
I have replaced the hose once, the belt 4 times and the brush roll twice, with ZERO spent on bags and filters. It still works like the day I bought it.
To say I am satisfied with the machine's performance is an understatement. The D4 is not a lazy person's machine, however, the machine must never be left set on the water when it is not running, and the separator must be kept clean.
I bought three extra separators so I can put a clean one on the unit when I put it away, and place the dirty one in the top rack of the dishwasher. If these simple requirements are too much for you, then do not buy a Rainbow.
If you want a clean home, and are tired of throwing away vacuums, and do not find the maintenance bothersome, by all means go for the Rainbow D4 vacuum!
