Sentria

I am very pleased with the performance of the Kirby Sentria vacuum. I had some set in spots in my light colored carpet and they are gone.

I do have issues with the sales people. I DO NOT like high pressure sales and normally will not even consider purchasing something from a person who does that.

I did purchase the Kirby even though I was made to feel guilty because if I did not purchase it, the sales person would not earn her trip.

I have to say that the Sentria really and truly does the job that it claims to do. I am very pleased!

the kirby sentria is a wounderful vacuum and if your looking to get a new one for a great price you might want to check online rather then a pushy salesman got mine from amazon

Sentria is brilliant

In 1990 i purchased my first Kirby cleaner, it was a G3 i remember. Impressive demo from the salesman convinced me this was a great investment. 20 years on, it has been moved from 3 homes, bashed about, fallen down the stairs several times, sucked up everything i shouldn't and still it goes on and on and on, i have never even had it serviced.

On our recent move of house it had been put in the garage, yes my husband vacuumed out the debris from the garage with it (criminal) we loaded the removal van and i had asked him to put the Kirby in last so it was first out the other end.... sadly it got left behind, it was several days before i needed to vacuum after unpacking... my beloved Kirby was no where to be found.

I promptly contacted the people who had bought our last house and was advised they had taken it to the tip as they thought we had left this, an old watering can and a wheelbarrow in the garden as rubbish.... i was devastated.

Recently my husband invested in the new Sentria to cheer me up, impressive modernization and every bit as brilliant as the last one that gave me such faithful service for over 20 years.

I would recommend these machines to anyone, forget the stigma of high pressure door to door sales, they sell themselves they really do, my only advice is don't pay more than £1200 for one as there is a lot of margin for haggling....

Better still buy one from ebay secondhand, their life expectancy is well over 15 years so a 3 year old machine will only set you back a couple of hundred pounds if that, and a service will cost you about £35 and the Kirby will be good as new. Parts are still easily available for all models, but do get one with a Techdrive on it, early versions don't have this and are too heavy to push. All in all, what a brilliant piece of engineering.

The Kirby Sentria is heavy

I love my kirby. I have owned a lot of vacum cleaners all of which have broken within six months (including a dyson). It also does a wonderful job as a furniture and rug shampooer. I have two dogs, a cat and a teenager the kirby cleans up after all of them and my rugs look like new.

My only complaint is that the Sentria is very heavy and difficult to get up and down stairs. It can also be difficult to change from upright to canister and to shampooer but I find it worth it.

HEAVY and the carpet cleaning portion is such a horrible nuisance....I'd rather pay a carpet cleaner to come out!! Sorry I bought it! Sure, it vacumes, but so do other brands.

I don't care how hard this "sucks"...did I mention HEAVY!?!?!?? And it does NOT fold down far enough to slide under normal beds. It's so difficult to get the head on "just right" so the rubber belt fits just so...why can't anything be easy??

Kirby Sentria cleans great!

I was totally shocked when the salesman used my Hoover and then the Kirby. The amount of dirt he got after I vacuumed was hard to believe. I have used the Kirby Sentria vacuum for two weeks now and the looks of my rug has improved to where it looks like I have had it shampooed.

Though the sentria I have works exceptionally well, I believe it was a demo model....in other words used. For $1500 I feel a new product is in order. non the less I havn't a leg to stand on. had vthe product been rubbish i would complain but the fact is it works great and so be it!

kirby vaccums are the best

i cant find a fall in the kirby they take a hell of a beating and they keep on going i am not telling u to beat it but what vaccum sucks dirt out of ur carpet like a kirby does there aint one. kirby u can even shampoo the floor and get up under ur fridge with out pulling it out and ur stove too and am tell u they are great vaccums never could get better

Kirby Sentria is amazing

I think the Kirby is amazing I use the Sentria model. We had a brand new Dyson DC17 model I payed 549 dollars for the salesman threw baking soda over my carpet in a small area which represented dirt then took my Dyson over that spot 50 times and then took the Kirby Sentria over it 3 times with a clear bag so we could see the left over baking soda and it was full of dirt.

I will never waste my money on a piece of plastic again. I have that Kirby for life.

175 dollars in 30 years from now if it stops working ill have it rebuilt. There is no other vacuum cleaner in the world that will back its product with that type of warranty.

I just bought the Sentria and still struggling becouse the cost. They told me that i can try it for 3 days and I've been looking for information about Kirby products and in this web site I had read a lot a good comments about this vacuum system and I think I will keep it.

I'll come back to this site later to let you know what is my expirience of this vacuum since it is too son to judge.

If somebody is planing to buy one of this vacuums don't let them sell you the one that they are using for demostration. They try to do it to me and when my husband and me ask for a new one, they brought this used one to us and we realize that it was not new because we open the box and we started checking the vacuum and it didn't look brand new at all. We thought if we are paying that high price, we deserve a brand new bacuum.
