The Roadster vacuum cleaner is capable of giving suction power of 1300 watts, which is 1 and a half times greater than what full vacuums could give.

Because it is purely a suction machine, the Roadster does not have brushes which could potentially damage your floors.

Because of this, it is ideal for cleaning carpets and hard floors.

The Roadster has a TapClean HEPA Dust-Cup filter. This filter is capable of trapping 99.97% of microorganisms, even those that are 0.3 microns in size.

It has a debris screen that stops large particles from entering your cleaner and possibly causing damage. Its dust cup is reportedly very easy to empty.

The Shark Roadster vacuum cleaner also has a hand-held turbo brush that is driven by air. You could use this hand-held unit to perform cleaning of your stairs and upholstery.

Consumer Praise and Complaints

The Shark Roadster vacuum cleaner has received more complaints and criticisms than praises from Amazon's customers. In fact, out of 51 reviews, 24 people or roughly 50% of reviews resulted in a one-star rating.

Although the unit's suction was true to its word, one user found that small debris in fact flew away from the vacuum head rather than being sucked into the machine. Some also complained about the different components of the vacuum being cheap and not built to last as long as they'd prefer.

The Roadster's attachments also tend to break easily, and they also get clogged quickly as their "blades" use the same air that picks up debris and dirt.

A few complaints have shown that the Shark Roadster's HEPA filter required cleaning after every single use, although this could be taken also as indicative of the Roadster's suction capabilities because vacuum cleaner filters only needs to be washed because it has picked and trapped so many dust in one cleaning.

Emptying the Shark Roadster vacuum's dust cup also attracted a few negative feedbacks. One user had to take the entire machine right beside the trash bin because the accumulated dust had the tendency of spreading outwards when emptied. Emptying the cup also required a little washing because of dust that electrostatically remained on the plastic.

The Shark Roadster has been proven ineffective in removing small food items, which some users have found disappointing since it could be a useful ability especially if they have children leaving food fragments on the floor.

Also, even if it is supposed to clean hard floors and carpets well, some users found that the Shark Roadster is actually only effective on hard floors but not on carpets.

On a positive note, the Shark Roadster vacuum has been found to be extremely effective in removing pet hairs, even from the side by the floor mouldings.

The cleaner also has a heat sensor built into it so that it can detect if the canister is full. This sensor is also responsible for the automatic shutdown of the cleaner to prevent overheating due to full canisters.
