Should I get the H20 Vac Turbo vacuum?

by Christina
(Canada)

Looking for a new vacuum... I was looking at the h2o vac turbo and was wondering if it is any good on carpet and floors?

VacuumWizard replies...

Yes, you're definitely on the right track. Actually, H20 Vac Turbo vacuum cleaners are highly recommended by health experts because they are environmentally friendly.

They possess superb filter, which can definitely prevent any dust from going out of the vacuum cleaner and trigger allergic reactions.

The H20 Vac Turbo also contains a powerful motor, running at 1,200 watts. And with such unbelievable suction power, you will definitely be able to clean large areas at the shortest amount of cleaning time.

Most of all, the H20 Vac Turbo is not only excellent in cleaning carpets and floors. It also works superbly with even the most delicate fabrics, such as those used in drapes and Oriental rugs.

Someone who bought it has shared their review on Yahoo Answers page which you may want to check.

The H20 Vac Turbo vacuum cleaner is sold in Canada by Thane company.

thanx for posting your comments

Unlike my husband, I was ready to go out and buy the H2O vac after seeing the infomercial. I am so glad he insisted on doing some research. I think I will just stick with my Rainbow; best vac we've ever had... 26 years and it's still going strong. We just wanted something similar for our residential cleaning business, cuz we don't won't to abuse our beloved Rainbow. We'll stick with our Tri-Star canister for our business. Thank you all again.

Isn't the "Comments" for people who have the vacuum?
by: Anonymous

Thank you for everyone who has owned this product and has an opinion about it. I am researching it,and there are a lot of COMMENTS from people who don't even own it! Who just write in to say 'Thanks, I almost bought it." seriously people, if you have not used it, why are you making a comment? All that does is make it harder to sift through the information.

Almost bought it changed my mind.

Almost bought it, chanded my mind.

Almost bought it, changed my mind.

Al;most bought it, changed my mind.

Almost bought it, changed my mind.

Get the point?

Great Deal

I just bought one of these at our local habit recycle store for 25 bucks! It's still in the car but if it has any suction at all....I figure I got a great deal

comments: True or False
by: Tester

I do not own one of these machines, and never will.
It is interesting to read the comments. most of the 'good' comments seem to me to be written in the style of professional copywriters. The negative replies by disgruntelled buyers. As I have been involved in advertising for a few years now, it isn't difficult to seperate the 'bull' from the 'shit'. Thank you for suppling a much needed public information site.

This is for: Sep 09, 2009 Worse Customer Service I have Experienced. by: Mr. Martinez

Hello! Not sure what state you live in but there is something called the "cooling off" law. Meaning anytime a salesman comes to your home or you order anything online or over the phone, you have 3 days to cancel the order. When you called the company after 30 mins to cancel your order, regardless if they were closed or not or if that was the correct department, your call to cancel qualifies as notification to the company to cancel per the cooling off law.

You don't have to pay the shipping and handling fees. Its the companys fault for not having their order takers cross trained as customer service reps to know how to cancel the order or at least get a message to customer service ASAP to stop the processing of your order.

Also you could have canceled payment ASAP, they can't process your order if the credit card payment was denied. Most banks and credit card company's have 24 hour customer service reps. to assist you.

Lastly, some advice for future reference. Try the "sleep on it" method. If you see an infomercial product you are interested in, wait 24 hours before purchasing. NEVER purchase based on a "one time deal, today only" special. If the deal isn't there in 24 hours then the product or service wasn't such a deal after-all. Also try researching the product/ service online if you have internet access. Weight the pro's and con's before shelling out that money.

ya get whatcha pay for
by: eddie

Water filtration is absolutely the best way to go if you're not allergic to water.
Buyer beware however.
in the vac wizards remarks, he says the vac is powerful because it runs on 1,200 watts. BIG DEAL!! That tells us nothing at all.
When shopping for vacs you need to forget about "suction" and "Vacuum". All vacs , except water trap vacs, lose their suction. Vacuum, by its own definition, can't clean anything. (defined: a dead airspace, a void, or nothing)
I'm an expert on water-trap vacs, however I have no vacs to sell anybody. My remarks are based on years of experience in comparing all vacs to water-trap vacs. What makes most water-trap vacs 100% efficient is the fact that there is no filter to clog so the "AIRFLOW" is never lost and it takes "AIRFLOW" for any vac to work properly...not suction or vacuum.
So, beware of any vac company that is trying to sell you on suction, vacuum, or in the vac wizard's case, watts.

Although I haven't seen the H2O Turbo in action, based on my 15 + years experience, I can't believe that a sufficient water-trap vac can be manufactured and sold for less than $300.00 and still work nearly as effective as the RAINBOW, HYLA, or OCEAN BLUE, because it takes an extremely powerful motor to do the job correctly.
I have seen countless other companies try to compete with the REAL water-trap companies to no avail because they continue to use the same cheap little electric motors that all other vac companies use.
So, to get a water-trap vac that will do the job you want it to do, yo will pay $1,500.00 or more, but it will last you 20 + years. I would reccommend 1st the HYLA, 2nd the OCEAN BLUE, then the RAINBOW "SE" but the rainbow "E" series has a filter and is made cheaper and in more expensive, although it has the most powerful motor in the industry.

Great on floor, not on carpets
by: Anonymous

I bought the H2O turbo vac long ago and it works great. Suction power is great ant tank is easy to clean. However, it does not work well on carpets. I have no problems with it, as almost my full house is hardwood floored.
You may want to consider another option if your home is fully carpeted.

The wizzard should...
by: Andy

It would do a lot for your credibility if you would personally review the vacuum at home, with real dirt in a real house lived in by real people. Or better yet obtain a few opinions from a panel of users who actually used the vacuum for a week.

Sounds like I just need to try it out for myself.
by: Lyn

I'm not here to offend anyone. I read all the comments, although most are negative I think trial and error would be the best way for folks to find out if this vac is the best for them.

According to most posts, it was not necessarily the vacuum that was the problem it was just the people selling the product. The warnings of poor customer service are greatly appreciated, though.

As with any product, everyone's expectations of perfomance will vary and not everyone's expectations will be met.

I'm going to get this vacuum from Target and see how it does, it beats spending $1800 on a Rainbow. Best of luck to everyone =)

Worse Customer Service I have Experienced
by: Mr. Martinez

Hello Everyone,

I first want you all to know that I had ordered two H2O turbo vac after watching a tv commercial on September6,2009.It impressed me how unique their product was presented.

I want to tell you what happened to my wife and I after we ordered the vacuums. My wife and I decided to cancel the order a half hour later we had placed the order but when I called they told me that I had to speak to customer service in order to cancel the order. I said ok, can you please connect me to the department? The sales rep. just told me that they were closed now and that I could contact them on Monday or Tuesday.I then said fine I will do so and since I didn't place a rush order on these products I felt that I would be able to call them Monday morning.

On Monday morning I called the offices like I was instructed to do and I got a voice mail indicating that they were closed.I wasn't worried since I didn't order these products there rush delivery service; so I then called Tuesday morning to speak to a customer rep. called John who stated to me that he couldn't do anything for me because the order was already processed and being shipped.I said;WOW they were closed Sunday,Monday and early Tuesday morning they decided to process my order quickly knowing that I didn't pay for a rush order fee!!!!!!!! I was very upset with them and I asked to speak to a customer rep supervisor who was just as hopeless as the customer service rep.She also told me that she couldn't do anything for me.I then told her that, now I have to pay for the return shipping of $50.00 or more dollars to return these vacuum's? She then just told me, yes!!!
I told her that what they were doing to customers was wrong. She just told after wards "Is there anything else I can help you with?" I don't think a company like this should have the right to take money from people who purchase products after canceling their order. She stated that there was an office called the "Customer Response Center".This Customer Service Supervisor stated that they handle problems between the their company and the customer.Their Fax# 1-719-948-1950
I will also contact the better bureau at www.bbb.org and www.ripoffreport.com to insert our experience in dealing with this company. I am a very unhappy customer who will never purchase anything from the Thane Direct USA (Company), ever again.Their website can be found at: www.thane.com.I hope this information was of help before you decide to purchase anything from this company.Buyers Beware and save yourself time and money!!!!

You have to know your machine
by: Anonymous

I have had the turbo for approx. one yr--actually, two of them, as I got the special, and I keep one upstairs. You DO have to baby this machine. You have to know how to check all the channels for obstruction, and where it gets stuck. Once you KNOW the machine, it is easy to keep it going. You can't pick up large pieces of stuff, like a bagged machine, but what you DO pick up is unbelievable!! What SOLD me on this machine, is the amount of nasty CRAP that it actually pulls out of my house, traps in water for disposal, and doesn't let back in the air.
I add a little bit Homedics scents (for the brethe machine) in the water (lime is the best) and it does AMAZING things in my house. You have to empty this machine often and keep the water clean.

It is not great on carpets, but I use my old machine on the carpets and then just go over it with the turbo--for the fine dust. It also cleans the air while you vacuum...imagine that!

Between this machine and a steam mop--I have probably saved a bunch on cleaning products!

It is the absolute BEST thing for hardwoods, vinyl and tiles.

I pull out WADS of cat hair!! And, it actually KILLS the fleas.

I wouldn't want to be without it.

Other machines than Rexair Rainbow.
by: Will

I have heard of a number of water filter units out there, apparently compared to Rexair, their D4 line (from 1985-1996) are some of the best out there for power and overall performance ratio, and can last for about thirty years. My Mom's is around 24 years old and is still running (main unit) quite well. I have one, but doing maintenance when taking the machine apart (not a good idea for some) can cost a lot of headaches and money, I have to replace part of the fan housing, cost $60 CA to get the part from the local shop. However, there are a few out there that seem to last as long as the D4 series models like the Thermax AF2, Delphin, RoTho Twin...not sure about Rotho, Hyla, etc. There are a few wet-capable central units too, one being the Canadian-invented, American-owned and made Aqua-Air Wet/Dry and the Canadian (Quebec-based) DrainVac. In a lot of ways, Rexair's Rainbow E2 machine is made in-house but not necessarily the best. For simplicity, I would probably suggest the Thermax AF2 for initial and maintenance costs (better reviews for it than the Rexair) possibly because a lot of the parts (Motors in particular) are fairly generic on their machines, as well as the fact that I think it includes the electric head for carpets, and only requires one hose for wet, dry and electric carry.

Nooooo!
by: Anonymous

For the love of all that is holy and good, resist any temptation you may have to purchase this disaster on wheels. I received one as a gift last year, and recently took great pleasure in destroying the thing and going out to purchase a new (different make/model, needless to say!) vacuum. From day one, the suction was very limited. The machine was awkward and prone to tipping over and leaking water. The noise level was similar to that of a small jet. And the worst part of all was trying to empty and clean the foul thing. I regret the day I ever laid eyes on it, and how much time I wasted hoping it would be the dream machine those infomercials promised.

thank you all so much for the warnings
by: Anonymous

Hi out there,

I just had to pop in and thank everyone for posting their comments. I was sucked in by the infomercial and decided at the last moment to do some research before purchasing the H20 vac. Looks like a total piece of junk. I'm going to save up and get a Dyson.

So sorry you are suffering with those junky machines!

We were the first
by: VacuumWizard

The reason why our review is positive is because when we answered the question, we scoured the web for reviews to see what the verdict on the vacuum was and at that time (more than a year ago!), there were almost no negative reviews.

That's why we allow the visitors to share their experiences so that in the end you'll get a more realistic picture of how the vacuum performs in the long term.

Thanks again everyone for sharing!

Vacuum Wizard "Review?"

Thanks everyone for all the informative reviews.. sounds like a lot of people are truthfully unhappy with this product and it is not what it appears to be.
WHAT I WANT TO KNOW: Why is this review by "The Vacuum Wizard" at the top so positive about the H20 Vac wehn it is obviously not a good product?

Contact Info for Thane company
by: Diana

Here is contact info for those that request it. Make sure to buy power head if you insist on this machine. One is not included with the offer, although I agree with the idea of trying it out with a purchase through target or bed bath and beyond. The customer service is only open M-F from 6-6 PST. The lady got my order wrong so I cancelled it and she hung up on me. I have to wait till Monday to see if the order from actually cancelled. I called the 800 390 3147 number back and was told they could not tell if the order had been cancelled and to call the number below on Monday. The website www.thane.com does not even give a customer service phone number, only a way to contact by email. I got this information by calling the 800 390 3147 number. Hope this info helps anyone who needs it.

The phone number is 1-719-948-1587
Address is PO Box 6009

H20 does not Suck!
by: Anonymous

I'm so disappointed in the H20 and to compare it to the Rainbow is not comparable. The roller continually gets stuck and loses it's sucking power after a few weeks...There is no way to remove the roller...they claim, you can send it back, but it's a pain in the butt and they will not work with you....If they would have worked with us a little more I would not be so upset...If you are going to sell something you should back it up...Michael Ashley West Jordan, Utah....

I wish I never even thought about buying this worthless piece of junk! I'm totaly digusted! What got me is that they had the nerve to compare it to Rainbow! It is absolutely nothing like it at all! Now I have to pay to return this piece of junk!!! I am extremely disappointed and furious!

Do Not Buy the H2O Vac!
by: Anonymous

I bought the H2O Vac approximately 1 year ago and it worked well for the first 2-3 months. The problem is that the suction decreases with time. Now the vacuum cleaner is completely useless.

not getting one
by: Anonymous

I was going to buy one of these, but after seeing what it would cost out of pocket and the reviews I read, I will not be buying one of these. For the price it would cost I can get a name brand like Dyson for not much more. It's hard to filter out the reviews as my experiece tells me that some of the glowing "reviews" are actually interested parties that pose as an independant consumer, so beware of reviews that are all complementary and find more than one source for them. Thanks for saving me the headache of this product and its money draining return policy, at a store you can go back with your bill and return the product with no overpriced shipping and "handling" charge. (Don't you need to handle something to ship it, so what exactly is a handling charge or should I say sucking more money out of you charge. NEVER WILL BUT SOMETHING I CANNOT SEE OR TOUCH IN PERSON.)

The "turbo" suction sucks!
by: Mitch, from Canada

I've just got my Turbo H2O Vac, and what brought me here is my disappointment with its performance, particularly its "turbo" suction, too weak to do any serious job, even with the highest speed setting!

Well, I can only confirm what others already wrote about it.

Good thing, I bought mine on eBay. So, I'm stuck with one piece only.

Honest Unbiased Review Pt 2: Guide to Purchasing Vacuum Cleaners
by: Anonymous

My tips for purchasing the best vacuum cleaners, follow these guidelines and never go wrong!:

1) 2 things you need to know about vacuums are motor wattage and suction wattage. The higher these numbers are the better the vacuum. Now-a-days in the market you'll see many vacs with high motor power but poor suction wattage. Don't fall for high suction campaigns!!! Typically you don't want a vac of motor wattage less than 1200W and suction wattage less than 360W otherwise you'll end up with a choker(i.e. the motor is too weak to suck when most of the nozzle head is obstructed by its contact with the floor and as a result the vacuum literally chokes* and powers down*)A strong motor will still help maintain high suction even if there is poor air flow or nozzle obstruction.

2) Upright vacs will always perform better than canisters just because the motor is closer to the suction head in upright vacuum. Naturally, if you have a canister without a proper power head you will have to break a sweat while vacuuming carpets covered in pet hair (I don't really find that annoying about the H2O turbo vac because most canisters are like that and still the H2O turbo manages to clean my carpets fine without the power head*).

3) Bagged vs. Bagless: I suggest you go with a bagless just because they generally have well fitted HEPA filters and are much more convenient when cleaning. Remember HEPA is something important to consider when buying a vac as they help cleanse the air from dust and reduce allergies.

4) Affordability is key! Where I came from we had bagless vacs with motors of at least 2000W and Suction 400W and you'd be amazed at their ability to suck dirt, lint and pet hair from carpets. Such vacuums were sold by Philips and Samsung and I would swear that they clean better than any Dyson canister out there. In N.America I have barely been able to find a bagless vac with these specifications. Right now a vac with a motor power of 1200W is all you need. Rainbow, Dyson, Hoover, Bisell, and Eureka are some good brand names out there, however if you're not willing to invest at least $300 on one of these you won't get the cleaning quality you need!

Honest Unbiased Review
by: Anonymous

I bought mine from an eBay seller for around $90 U.S. I was planning on buying it anyways. First I was about to order it from Thane but after I did the total cost (+ S n' H) it ended up bordering $400 U.S. However, I desperately wanted one and didn't mind blowing less than $100 on eBay for it. Now bearing in mind that it is a Canister it does work extremely well on hardwood, ceramic, tiles, laminate flooring. It works okay* on low carpets, and medium/persian area rugs (i.e. if you put slight effort into vacuuming you will see the difference). I have tried out various uprights and even the best dyson canister model out there, for the same cleaning results the H2O Turbo Vac is definitely better to own at a price less than $100. I've lived most of my life in European regions and all the Vacuum cleaners that I have possessed have always had much more motor power and higher suction power than any vacuum in N.America. For a typical canister vacuum with high cleaning capability don't fall for the expensive reputable stuff out there, I am an expert, I have tried various cleaners and here I am giving an honest review.

Thanks for reviews
by: Anonymous

I was thinking about getting one after watching their tv ads but after reading all the negative reviews I am no longer considering it. To the person who said that the negative reviews would be in the majority and that they are still considering it, most items that are great and have negative reviews have tons of positive reviews also. I can't seem to find one positive review from a person, I found a lot of positive reviews from companies and articles but not from comments like these or people. I'd beware of this item and I hope you researched a little more.

Thanks everyone for saving me money!!

Test Francais ICI - French ReviewHere
by: Jonathan

This vacum is worthless! I've been ripped off!
by: Anonymous

I purchased an H20 turbo vac and it is completely worthless! On the highest setting it barely has any suction. Not only that, but it holds so little, I have to constantly empty and refill it. If you have pets, definitely do not buy this vaccuum. IF those reasons are not enough, I complained to the company and wanted my money back. They told me I could get a refund but I would have to pay the shipping cost to return it. The shipping cost was outrageous. So I called them back and they offered me a discount. I kept it and agreed to the discounted price, thinking maybe I coudl re-sell it and at least get part of my money back. Today I just saw another charge on my checking account and last month should have been my final payment. I am reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau. I am totally disgusted and fed up. I will never order another item from an TV ad again. Also, speaking of TV ads, if you think about getting the Swivel Glide sweeper, it's a peice of crap too. Definitely not worth the money.

Jul 05, 2009
Don't waste your money on this item!
by: Anonymous

I ordered one of the H2O Turbo Vacs and found it to be a sorry excuse for a vacuum. It did not have very good suction power at all, even on the highest speed. The attachment that is supposed to be used for hard floors and carpets does an extremely poor job on carpets. I had to make several passes over the same area to get it clean. The hose and the optional slim nozzle I purchased are plastic, and were crimped from the way they had been packed in the box. To top that off, the super slim nozzle didn't fit beneath my refrigerator or my clothes dryer. When I called the company to learn about how to return it, I found out they won't refund the almost $80 dollars S/H for the original shipment, and now I have to pay to ship it back.
All in all, this was a terrible waste of money. You would be better off to buy a regular vacuum with good filtration and skip this product. Rainbow is the other type of water filtration vacuum that I know of, and it beats this one hands down. They are expensive, but with proper use, last a really long time.

the psychology behind complaining
by: Woodtears

I haven't got one yet. After reading these comments I am up in a mess and do not really know what to do now. Why? It came up to my mind that, of course, people use to scream and cry out if they feel pain. If you do not feel pain...why cry out? There's a good chance that the negative comments here just mirror the fact that people are more prompt to complain when things goes wrong, that means negative comments will be in majority. When the product works people are less motivated to make the job of complaining. Maybe a truth statistical picture is that those that are happy out there they are in majority? A better solution is having tests and reviews from independent source, consumer organization, etc.

h20 vac turbo
by: ricardo

You people out there should get a h20 vac turbo because the vacuum has three washable filters and traps literlly 99.97% of germs. It cleans the air in your home to. I have one and it actully can hold up a bowling ball and a cilinder block it really works.

A rip off
by: Anonymous

I just got the H20 Vac and oh my god it has lost suction already after only using it 3 times. I should have read the reviews but I got sucked into those commercials. There is no way it would pick up a bowling ball. I think I am within the 30 days so i am going to send it back even if I have to pay the shipping and handling. The next vac I buy will be from a store. It is the owrst vac I have ever had. I am very unhappy it looked do good on the tv

You have to understand a water vacuum system
by: Anonymous

I have had a rainbow for 22 yrs and mine is on its last leg... 1 upstairs and 1 down. What the Thane company doesnt tell you is that you can now get them at Target.com online for $129.00.
I am going to purchase one but thru a local retailer. The point of a water system is to suck up the smells out of your carpet and not let it escape back in to the rooms air. That smell is your dirty carpet.... Which the dirty water is to be emptied down the toliet and the fuzz of the carpet in the trash can. which it is normal for amount to a hand full of fiber to be in each house vacuuming.((NOT TO LEAVE WATER IN THE VACUUM AFTER CLEANING FOR ANY TIME IN THE MACHINE OR IT WILL SMELL LIKE SEWER)) The carpet fragments... This is normal it is not tearing up your carpet it is removing all the loose fibers from the carpet that your walking on daily that you twist loose and the dirt and sand that you track in are cutting the fibers. Some people don't understand this. Years ago I sold the Rainbow and we explained that at our demos, but these machines are rediculious in price $1800.
Knowing these facts makes the purchase of a H20 my next purchase choice. The h20 mop has been also fabulous for me. I am a nurse and the difference of using a water vacuum vs a regular bagless Dyson my kids are worse with their breathing. My 2 asthmatic kids & husband do great with the water vacuum and can tell the difference. We throw out the smelly dirt and the fiber that you breath in to you lungs. My next purchase will be an H20 vacuum

Thanks!!!!

Thanks for this reminder because my sister was about to tell my dad about this and wanted to buy it. I am very thankful for all these people who told me to not buy it. DO NOT BUY IT!!!!!! I had noticed that people had said about the suction, it will suck all your carpet bits into the vac. Another big thanks to you!!!!!!!!

I wish I had read this site before purchasing the Turbo Vac. I totally agree with everyone, I to got taken by this company. I was told that the payments would be 39.95 for 3 months. But instead I am paying 64.55 for 5 months. I contacted them and they said I can return the vacuum but I have to pay for the shipping. Shipping it back will cost me 150.00 which I do not have. The vacuum does not work on carpets. and the dirty water is a mess. I guess I am stuck with it. I asked if I can return in person to save shipping charges but they declined that idea. (wonder why?). I to am going to report them to the BBB and I told them I was going to do that. Do not purchase from this company.

DO NOT BUY
by: Sandy

I purchased this H2O Vac Turbo, then read comments and wanted to cancel the order, they said it had shipped. I called them back to get the Fed Ex tracking number after I called Fed Ex to say they should have given me a tracking number and nothing is showing up that it is shipped. (I have been checking all day for the tracking numbers to show up in the Fed Ex system because I will call them to ship back before it gets to my house.) I also called my credit card company to dispute charges. (They cannot dispute charges until it actually shows up on my account). This tells me that they can cancel, Yet, they will not cancel my order. This kind of business practice should be shut down. I will be contacting the BBB also. This is just wrong. Then they say I will be paying for shipping the H2O back too. This must be how they make their money, using innocent peoples money! This is just upsetting. DO NOT EVER BUY FROM THIS OUTFIT unless you want to just lose money fast.

dissapointed
by: M Haro

I ordered the Turbo H20 Vac, come to find out I will be charged $89.99 for 5 payments, when I called this morning, they told me I could not cancel because it was in route already. I am going to end up paying $450.00 for 2 machines. That is an outrage amount. I should have never ordered this product. I will be contacting the BBB.

There is something wrong with our laws. Businesses can make such gross misrepresentations like these guys and nobody (consumer protection authoriities) stops or better yet punishes them. Then you go in a automobile dealership, and you have to pretty much be a attorney to either sell or buy a car, if you wanted to conform with every law.
Why isn't there more requlations protecting consumers agains TV scams???????

New game?
by: Breakfast eater

A few times while eating breakfast, I have encountered commercials like this one on TV. Each time I have read the reviews, and it's almost the same every time.

This could be made into a nice game around the breakfast, where all participants can guess how bad the reviews will be.

B.S. Allergy.
by: Anonymous

I literally get sick on the stomach when infomercials come on because I "am" allergic to B.S. How this country can allow these "bottom feeders" to exploit the elderly etc. is beyond sick.
I am a 62 year old former marine and Vietnam Veteran and love my country and will die today if necessary. Put these bottom feeders on the front line with their Vacuum Wizards, Sham Wows etc. instead of a rifle.

not worth it
by: Anonymous

I received this vac as a gift...and it sucks...not in a good vacuum way. It does work great on hard floors, and it's ok for cleaning up spills, but works like crap for carpet. I don'e have any pets, and it won't pick up the normal carpet fuzz. Don't waste your money.

After reading comments, tried to cancel
by: Anonymous

My boyfriend saw the infomercial last saturday and decided to order it for me as a suprise, I immediately searched reviews and told him to cancel the order, he called within minutes and was told that he could not cancel until Monday at 9:00am when customer service was open... what a Joke
he called first thing on Monday and was told it was already shipped out, we are going to dispute credit card charged and refuse package.

BUYER BEWARE...Quite the gimmick

Nothing unique here
by: Anonymous

This vacuum cleaner is a Rainbow meets a Dysan. Using water as a filtration is a joke. Your left with messy muddy watter to get rid of. If you don't get rid of it right away you will probably damage the vacuum cleaner. This typically happens with a Rainbow if the filter isn't cleaned.

Even the EPA can't prove that water is a good air filter. If the EPA doesn't think it's effective, then why buy it? If water is an effective filtration system, then why have the heppa filter?

This is just a cheaper version of a Rainbow that has had several problems with broken tanks. Not a lot of satisfied customers.

Complete Ripoff
by: Anonymous

I ordered the H2O vac, then 5 hours later, called to cancel. Was told I had to call Customer Service, but they would not be open until the next day. Called they next morning at 6:43 AM and was told the order had already shipped - it hadn't.

Called FedEx to refuse delivery, but they hadn't received a pickup request for the product - that being the case, they couldn't stop shipment. At 5:01 PM, the pickup request had been made. FedEx put a stop shipment flag on the package.

Called my credit card company to dispute, but they couldn't do anything until the charge was approved. For reference, H20's own website indicates shipping is within 2 - 3 weeks from credit cardd approval. They shipped it 2 days.

Bottom line - I still got hosed $40 for shipping, with no re-course to get a refund.

What a TOTAL FRIGGIN' RIPOFF ! ! !

BUYER BEWARE ! ! !

I have this so called vacumn that is strong enough to pick up a bowling ball well it doesn't even pick up dog hair. I have never wasted money so badly until i bought the turbo. I would not advice anyone to buy it

i'll give it a try
by: Anonymous

will buy from my local bloodbathandbeyond. they have a very good return policy. there's no time limit. that's what they told me when i bought POS shark vac. this POS can't be worse than Shark. I do have w2w carpet so will try to get a "power" head.

those of you who can get it locally and not from canada, give it a try. bbb has very good return policy, target 90 days i think. why not. let retailers ship this crap back to Thane.

I love it
by: Jenn P

I got the h2o vacuum for an early anniversary present from my mom. I have used a rainbow in the past before I got married and loved that one. I like the rainbow way better but the h20 turbo, tho I think is great. I used it yesterday for the first time and it worked good. I dont have the power nozzle or whatever it is called for the carpets and the one it comes with isnt that great on my carpet but it does get the job done, i want done. Very Satisfied.

vo he turbo vacuum cleaner
by: Anonymous

It is terrible that people get away with making such products such as this. I purchase one and got an additional vacuum cleaner for a small amount. The same day I received my order, I gave the extra one to a good friend. If I would have known better I would have not given her the extra vacuum. I would have gladly returned both vacuum. This was highway robbery. The pieces are so brakeable, no good suction. There should be a law. It's a piece of junk compared to Hoover, Eureka, Dirt Devil, Kirby, Electrolux, Panasonic and many other vacuum cleaner. God Bless America. Let's stop being fools!!!!

Where's my carpet? :-/
by: Anonymous

This H20 VAC is so powerful it sucked off everything I had in my 2 bedroom apt, including my ex g/f and her ugly dog.
I use it mostly to get the dust from under the bed where I keep most of the crap I buy off TV ads, exercise machines anyone?
I now have so much of it under my bed that I'm thinking about starting my own TV ads selling bunk bed with enough under space to accept all those crappy H2 HO HO VACs and all that plastic shit that is not good enough to be sold in regular stores. Wake up people! Get a life, and stop believing all this crap you see on TV. Send me 2 hundred dollar bills, and I'll send you one in return, with a 30 day guaranty, s/h excluded, of course.

Great product.
by: Acrobat

I have a cat and recently I was diagnose with asthma.
I did not want to let go of my cat so I decided to get a new vacuum. I did try and compare some vacuums (Dyson,Oreck,Hoover) and got myself to consider buying a H20 Vac Turbo(price/quality) and I finally did buy one.
My home as never been so clean.
I does a great job picking up pet air and powerful enough for carpet. Delicate yet effective on cushions, furniture, lamps and dusting. Did not try it yet for wet spills and I probably never will, the idea of cleaning the vacuum hose takes more time and effort than actually using a shamWOW for picking it up.
Great product, glad I got it.
Important to keep the pieces apart when not in use, to dried them up. It takes less time to do the house cleaning, it is very powerful and effective with all the attachments.
It is a good buy!
It helps keep the environment practically dust free and for a asthmatic that is such a relief!
Love it!

H20 Turbo Vac
by: Anonymous

I have read all the negative comments on this vac and the company. I saw it on TV and it looked great! That is why I decided to look into the vac on the internet. Glad I did. I thought it would be nice to have for quick clean up along with my Rainbow. I have had a Rainbow for many, many years and I don't think there could be another vacuum to compare to it. They are a pain to use but they do the job. I would like to know how much that bowling ball weighed? Or if it is a hollow bowling ball? I want to thank everyone for all your comments. If I want one of these vacs to try out I will go to Target. If it doesn't work right I will take it back rather than to pay the shipping charges.

H2O Vac, good but not great!
by: Melody

OK, I was a little disappointed about the "power head" attachment as it is not a truly "powered head". It is a vacuum powered attachment like what you would expect for an upholstery brush or something. It is a little cheesy to be sure. BUT, I do like the suction of the vac, I love cleaning hard surface floors with it and sucking up the soiled water with a squeegee (yeah this works great) and dusting with the unit. I have just combined it with other units I use as a whole house cleaning system. I vacuum my carpets with the Eureka Altima model (Walmart-@ $75.00), dust everything, clean hard surface floors, clean our cars, etc with the H2O vac, and finish with the H2O Steam Mop (I love this product). when you cut through all the "hype" it is about @ $200.00 for each of the vacs that they send you and it is worth it as part of your "system" but not as a stand alone vac for sure.

We Like It
by: NightBazaar

Speaking for myself, I was a bit skeptical about the H2O Vac Turbo, thinking it would just be another piece of junk that would fail in no time at all. We had used a Rainbow vac borrowed from a friend which seemed really nice, but the cost was a LOT more than we wanted to pay for a vacuum cleaner. However, we've found the H2) Vac Turbo actually works better than any of the canister or upright vacs we've bought in the past.

The only complaint I have is when you buy certain optional accessories, like the Power Brush Head (best on carpets), you get other things with it. In other words, you can't just buy the head alone. Calling it a "Power Head" is kind of misleading because the brush head is turned by the air vacuum suction rather than power.

Another problem with the optional Power Head is is when the brushes wear down and need to be replaced, there is no way to just get a roller brush. You can't open it up to replace parts. You have to buy another Power Head package. The Power Head should be redesigned so you can take it apart and replace only the parts necessary. But it has worked for us and we give it a heavy workout, so I can live with that. It worked fine for well over a year, so it's time to replace it.

I found that the sales reps do indeed try to offer a variety of optional accessories, but you're not obligated to buy any of them. Still, it's a good idea to at least hear what else they have, in case you find one of them might be useful for you. You can always order accessories later on. I did decide that I wanted the extra long hose, although we don't use it all the time.

I like the length of the cord and that you just press a button to rewind it. The water filtration system is great because it cuts all the clouds of dust that would otherwise float in the air, as is typical with canister and upright vacs. Also, the entire unit is pretty lightweight and easy to move around.

For our needs, the H2O Vac Turbo has worked out great and has been better than the canister or upright vacs we've used in the past. We've had no mechanical problems with the unit, unlike some of the other vacuum cleaners we've had.

From my point of view, we've been very pleased with it and it has indeed picked up dirt, hair, etc., far better than other vacuums.

DO NOT BUY THE H2O TURBO VAC!!!!
by: Anonymous

I bought it and paid the full shabang. And the second vac too. BOTH of them are terrible! No suction power at all even when it was set to the max! My cheap $20 vac works better! I sent it back within a week, within the 30 day money back terms, and I still had to pay for the S&H. They lied. I complained, but they didn't bother to give me my full refund. I only got back enough to cover the S&H, which is less than half of what I spent to order the vac in the first place. So my advise to EVERYONE, DO NOT get this product. I went to post my comment on their page and it stated,"...we reserve the right to publish it ONLY when it creates the VALUE for other Thane visitors." Meaning, ONLY if you give it a good review they will post it. So yeah, you guest it, my comment did not get posted.

Saleperson attempts to get you to buy much more.
by: Joanne Schifini

When I called in my order, the sales person did say it was a 30-day trial with satisfaction guaranteed or I could return the units. The Sales person attempted to have me agree to add: 1. 20 foot hose $24.95, 2. Rug Shampoo kit $31.46, 3. Sack to store attachments $9.95, 4. Extended 3-year warrantee $24.95 per machine, 5. Slim Nozzle for vacuuming under stoves and fridges ?, 6. 3-pack hepa filters $24.95, 7. Carpet Head $19.95, 8. H2O mop for only the shipping and handling cost ? With the shipping and handling cost on the two units at $80 to which I had already agreed making the total of $279.65, I was not about to have more excessive shipping and handling for all this add-on stuff. I said "no thank you" to all 8 items above. At no time did the salesperson say that it would cost an additional $80 to return the two machines. Buyer beware of the shipping and handling terms and conditions. At the end of the 30-day trial, you pay $80 to return the two units so you will have paid $160 to try out two units. If you are not satisfied with the unit, it is cheaper to sell the units on the internet and not return them. I kept one unit and I gave one unit away to a friend as a gift.

I almost ordered it when watching the informercial. When I phoned them, the sales girl was too pushy and wanted to offer this, that and all after asking her several times just to place the order, she wouldn't give up. So I asked her to cancel the order. Now I am glad I did not order this. Thank you all for the comments.

Buy extra foam filters and hepa filters instead the head.
by: Joanne Schifini

Dear Nurse on the farm, There is no way this vacuum will do better on carpets. Spend your money on extra foam and hepa filters which you will use since you have two machines. I have given up the metal telescoping tube in favor of lighter two-part plastic pull apart tubes. I have given up the floor/carpet head in favor of a lighter floor only head from another vacuum. The floor only head is much smaller and much easier to move around the legs of furniture. The only drawback to the lighter parts is that they are plastic and conduct static electricity which causes pet hair to stick to them. But the pull apart feature makes it so much easier for me to disconnect the head, catch the hair or dirt and reattach the head that it is worth it to me to help me clean quickly.

Excellent on Floors
by: Anonymous

I don't understand all of the negative comments on this vacuum. I have a large home with several animals. I also have a muddy farm and a husband who hunts and walks across my kitchen floor in dirty boots, no matter HOW much I complain!

My husband is a doctor, and I am an RN. I purchased this vac to reduce the amount of dust and crap in my home. It is TREMENDOUS on my hardwoods and tile. This is evidenced by the amount of filth that comes out of it after I vacuum--much of which ended up in fine particles in the air after I vacuumed with my previous machine. It is also great having one for upstairs and down so I don't have to haul a vac.

Drawbacks: There are a few. It doesn't pick up large bits well--I try to pick up paper and clips and such prior to vacuuming. I have found that occasionally, bits will stick where the hose plugs into the machine, and suction becomes diminished--easy fix, I just clean it out.

You do have to clean it out, often. Actually, probably better than keeping a vacuum bag full of crap to grow bacteria to blow back into the environment. I rinse it out with a little bleach, now and then.

Lousy on carpets. I have a vac that cost twice as much with a power head. Without the power head, it is way too much effort, though I do use it lightly over the carpets to pick up dust. I'm going to look into the power head that the company offers.

Bonus: my house smells great. I add a bit of the fragrance that I use in my Homedics Brethe air cleaner, and it scents the house while I vacuum--I don't like the ones that came with the vac.

Between this and a steam mop, my home is FAR cleaner that it used to be, and the reduction in the amount of products I have to use will probably pay for these within a few yrs.

I have info in front of me and almost ordered because of blower feature and cleaner air (3 dogs, 1 cat).I did not know abt this great site (it is definitely Bookmarked now) and I kept looking for reviews. TurboVac H2o
by: ep

This is an expensive broom,,,,it will vacuum tile and hardwood just fine....but on carpet it is too flimsy and just slides over...so while it seems that it will pick up some stuff from the carpet, there is no way it cleans nearly the way described in the infomercial..it's a little better than a dustbuster....

limitations of the H2O turbo vac.
by: Joanne Schifini

You must store the vac with the white insert backwards to allow air to dry the tank, insert, and foam filter to prevent mildew. The cover for the tank cannot not be inserted in the normal postion when the insert is backwards. Also, you must wash and dry the foam filter before using the machine each and every time to maintain maximum suction.

The 30-day trial with a full refund is misleading because you must pay the full shipping and handling of $40 to return the unit. You will have spent $80 on shipping and handling when returning one unit. $40 to get it delivered to you and $40 to return to Thane. You are better off buying a new unit on ebay or amazon.com for around $100 with no warranty. If you do not like the unit, donate it to a charity. If you do not have $80 to $100 to try it out, wait until one shows up at a charity resale store for about $25 to $35.

I am keeping my unit because it does the job I need done for pet hair on the couches and beds. From the infomercial, I thought it would replace some of my other machines, but it does not. We have a dirt devil upright that was $100 with disposable bags. A canister Walmart $30 vac bagless. A huge industrial dry/wet canister shop vac. A very old Hoover canister vac. Bissel upright with disposable bags. We use them all from time to time.

H2O turbo vacuum is good for our country home.
by: Joanne Schifini

I like the Rainbow vacuum my girlfried had in the 1980s, but I did not want to spend $500 on a vac. Of the three water filtration vacs on wizardvacuum web site, I chose the h2o vac.

We have a log home set in rural Oregon. We use wood to heat our home. All winter we have fine ash dust when we clean the fire place out when there are ambers. All Spring, summer and fall we have fine dirt particles coming in the windows. We have four dogs who live indoors a great deal of the time.

I have used a $30 canister vacuum from Walmart for a year, but I have to empty it about four to five times when I clean the house, or it blows fine dirt back into the room when it gets full. I clean the small vac by sucking the dirt into my dirt devil upright which has bags. I wanted a canister vacuum that had a water filtation dust filter system which I did not have to empty five times.

I cleaned the entire house yesterday with the h2o turbo vac. I had to empty it only in the middle of the cleaning and at the end before storing.

The h2o turbo vac has a riostat on the motor so it can go from quiet light suction to heavy full suction. The noise varies by riostat setting. It is not louder than the little $30 vacuum nor is it louder than my dirt devil upright.

We are on a septic system so we will not be emptying the dirt reservoir in the toilet. It must be emptied outside, not in the toilet.

Because we are a solar home, we have a $3,000 Sun Frost fridge. The power unit for the fridge is on top of the unit so it collects dust. The blowing feature of the h2o turbo is perfect for dusting off the top of the fridge. This is one main reasons I got it.

It is true that the carpet/floor head will fill with pet hair which you have to pick out. However, we have all hardwood floors, a few area rugs, and berber carpeted stairs between the first and second floor. We do not have wall to wall carpet. The carpet/floor head worked sufficiently for our purposes. If you have wall to wall carpet, get an upright vac or a canister vac with a good electric power head which will get pet hair up.

The h2o vac is the least expensive of the three water filtration vacs mentioned on the vacuumwizard.com web site. I need not buy vac bags for this little vac.

The total cost to me for two vacs was $279.65. I think it is worth it. Also, the attachments for the Dirt Devil and the small $30 Walmart vac fit the h2o turbo so I have extensions and variable heads already. You can and should wash and dry the sponge dust filter out often. Also the hepa filter can be washed and dried carefully before using the vac again.

Buyer beware and be sure you evaluate the vac on what it can do well and what you need done before you buy it.

Happy with the h2o turbo vac in Oregon!

I just want to say thanks to all those who posted a comment here. I was going to buy not one, but TWO of the H2O vac. I thought it was going to be so cool to have one in the house, and one in the garage. I was sooo close to buying one from Thane or on e-bay, and I wanted to get one for Christmas. But, I thought that I would check online to see if it was a scam or not (google search: h2o vac is it a scam), and the first link was this website! LOL!!! And, I am so glad I did. I feel bad for all of you who actually bought it and got slammed, but think of it like this, you saved other people a bunch of money, and that company didn't get the money, so maybe someday they will go out of business.

H20 Turbo Vacuum
by: Gary

I had received the Turbo vacuum yesterday and had not seen all of these negative comments regarding others experience. This really had me concerned since I hadn't used it and was hearing all these comments. Well, I finally used it today and yes I know that Infomercials are designed to hype the product but I tell you I don't need this vaccuum to lift a bowling ball but I was thoroughly pleased with the job that it did and my fears have been dispelled. Now I'm not saying that others didn't have the experience they claim, but I needed a vacuum that did better than the two I currently have which don't pick up anything anymore. The H20 Vac picked up plenty of dirt. I don't think my expectations were too high considering what I at least wanted it to do...it did just that. So yes buyer beware but so far on my first vacuum I am pleased and did three rooms and I vacuumed sheets on my bed and it did its job.

H2O Vac Turbo Beware!
by: Melissa

I just bought this Vacuum and received it today. I was VERY disappointed when I went to go and vacuum. I had it on the max suction and got an extremely high pitched noise coming from the hose. I was a sucker too and got the second free vacuum too which did the same thing. The suction is not the greatest either, since there is a high pitched noise I was not able to use the full suction with out going deaf. Now I have two junkie vacuums and got to send both back and hope to get my full refund.

by: The Housekeeper

I was seriously considering buying the H2O vac. I haven't seen it on TV in awhile. So this morning I was going to order it. Ran across this site first. Really glad I did. Saved me some money.
I'm a house keeper and I use the customers vacuums.
They are actually a pain. So I will be searching for a different vac, perhaps at Walmart.

I turn my TV on this morning and found H2O advertisement; I decided to check the web before I order it, I'm so glad i did because with all the comment i came accross i was wondering why no one report them for false advertisement. The comments are about 99% negative, this company does not belong in business.

We purchased this vac 10 days ago and we received it this past friday. When we opened the box and removed the vac we were so disappointed that we wanted to through it in the trash. We decided to try it and found that it did not do any of the things that was advertized on TV. We have tried to get in touch with the company, but all we get is an electronic recording to leave our phone # and name and they will get back in touch with us, so far nothing has happened and no return call. So before you BUY and PAY IN FULL check out the Company. JUST LOST $300.00 TO SCAM H20 VAC TURBO.

A BIG WORTHLESS TOY

Do not waste you time or money. If you send it back they charge you extra. So you will still be paying the full cost. Don't Buy This Plastic Toy.

The best ever
by: Anonymous

I love this vacuum so much. I can really tell the difference. After vacuuming I do not see all the dust flying around in light like I used to from a regular vacuum. Best purchase I have made in a long time. I think everyone should get one.

Thank you
by: Jack Daniel Junior

Hi All,

Thank you very much for all your comments.

At first, I was quiet impressed with the infomercial (well, thats what its designed to do, to attract customers) and what it does with wet and dry vacuuming.

I might try to check it out in a physical store and see it for myself and ask them to lift a bowling bowl as shown on the ad.
we'll see what the sales person says ....

These comments really helps me with my research on good vacuum cleaner
Thanks again for your time and input.

Regards,
JDJ

Rip off with a capital T
by: Anonymous

This product does not do half of what it is suppose to do. I have dogs and I spent more time cleaning the hair off the brushes then it is worth. My carpet were no cleaner when I was done. It was a total waste of money and their customer service was useless.

too much trouble
by: Anonymous

I purchased the H2O Vac Turbo because it looked impressive. I was using it and pulling on the attached hose and my vac tipped over. It then quit working for the rest of the day. Plus all the hassel of vacuuming everytime. You have to clean the vac everytime you use it otherwise it will stink. I just need something that I can pull out and use and empty or put away again.

Thanks, guys!

I just saw the TV ad for this product, and it looked so impressive, I was going to order one right away. However, from experience, I've now learned to search for users' comments first, and I'm very glad I did in this case.
Thanks to all of you who took the trouble to write and help the rest of us. You hve shared in providing an invaluable service.

H2O vacuum cleaner (white model)
by: Christine ingc27@hotmail.com

I have the original white H2O vacuum and it worked well, until I had back problems and could not use it. I have bought it back into action again only to find the black hosing from the machine to the tools is split in two places. This has only just occurred and I cannot say my machine is rubbish. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement hose so I can continue its use. I would be more than grateful to learn of the manufacturer as well, so I may approach them.

I feel sad for those people buying a product which doesn't work. Mine must have been a Monday job!

Thanks. Christine.

don't buy
by: Anonymous

Every comment that I read is so true. It will not pick up a bowling ball. it will not even pick up some loose dog hair. My carpeting is not fluffed up and it looks like I did not even vacumn. It is a nother tv scam i think. I could have bought the best vacumn for 400.00. They will do nothing about it.

it is a ripoff
by: Anonymous

I read the blog before me. If you take any vacuum cleaner and pour the contents into water it will look exactly like the water your H20 vac had after you vacuumed up cat hair. The reason it is a ripoff is that it does not pick up anywhere near how it is shown on infomercial. After I vacuumed, I felt like I needed to go and get my vacuum cleaner. It is (as the customer service rep told me when I called) manual labor. In other words. There are no brushes turning under the floor piece. It does not fluff up the carpet and get trapped in dirt like any inexpensive vacuum would do. Cheaply made. Also, buyer beware. If you don't like it, you still pay the 39.95 shipping and hope you didn't fall for the get the second one free like I did and owe another 39.95 shipping on it when you return it. The machines are probably not worth more than that anyway.

H2O Turbo Vac
by: Patrick

we recently had a h20 vac -the one that hsa a big fish bowl-it had no suction at all-
it failed- to do a bowling ball Test-I used a small stool-then we shipped it back- thane charged us shipping Hnadling-they sent us appently newer versions Now if you look closely at the Pic of a Man suspended In Mid Air-by one of their Vacs-you will see-its impossible for a vac to to hold somnone-in mid air with-out falling.I find thane-direct uses catch.22- to fool its viewers into thinking it can stuff-But cant-they 1st one had power to lift a refridgeerator-again Impossible-unless it was hooked it to a Mega vac booster-same with suspending a worker in mid air-it cant be done-I think-Thane Direct should re-think its strategy to sell Products before Airing....

Don't buy the H2O turbo vac!
by: Anonymous

This company is in business to rip people off. I had a legal right to change my mind and when I did, I got authorization to send the unopened box back to them-- it cost me $59 to send it back to them and out of $57.92 they refunded me $17. They charged me for shipping and handling- so I spent over $99 and never opened the box!! They would have charged me $79 more dollars if I had gotten the "free additional vac." Don't be caught up in this scam!
