Vax X5

The Vax X5 vac worked very average. I bought it at a major retailer offline. It is very fussy, and you must use another vacuum to clean out the filter about every other use to keep suction.
My real upset with the vac is this: The roller bar jammed and broke. So like anyone, I took it to a larger city repair - I was told that they had never heard of it and could not service it, and asked if I wanted them to dispose of it - its 2 yrs old?
I then went to the Vax website for a list of service centers - not one on the list had heard of Vax, or would service it. I called Royal Appliance - the supposed manufacturer...the response was...we no longer manufacture this model and outside the list of service people (the ones who had never heard of them??) that is all we can do.
So basically I am out of luck. She offered the number of a poss repair shop 6 hours away?? I am still waiting to hear back from Vax USA, but am not expecting any better service.
